Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Goodness, what happened then? Do you live in a capital city or very remote? Very disappointing for you.

I live in WLG. Purchase was from the NZ QF store, which has much more limited selection than the Australia QF store. Given indicated delivery at time of purchase was 10 days, this suggests the items were likely in a warehouse in Auckland.

My, um, our cart’s plastic trays also seem basically unused.

And of course pollies of all colours have been offered a half cart:

This week, the airline gifted the ALP leader a “747 Half Bar Cart” which is - just as it sounds - a small working bar cart once in service on Qantas’ now-retired 747-400 jets.

Interesting it has now been considered as a collectors item. I hope it comes to them all very scuffed and grubby. 🤭😂
Hope it’s put on the register as a declared gift. Wouldn’t want to be entangled in “corruption” - whoops that’s only apparently applicable to NSW.🤭

Haven’t read the article. I’m guessing the PM also got one

If scomo says “No”, maybe it will be put up for sale? 😀

Anyway, how difficult would it be to just accept it?

As a gift to the 'Office of the Prime Minister' it might be ok. As a personal gift I'd have a problem... dun really pass the 'pub test'.

This is supported by the official 'gift rules': https://www.pmc.gov.au/government/official-gifts/guidelines-relating-official-gifts-received

Gifts up to $300 can be retained, but over that amount the recipient would be required to pay the difference, plus GST.

As per MEL_Traveller's post above, there are many significant implications, particularly from such a significant Australian company and especially during Covid times. However those clearly don't bother Albanese or the Deputy?PM

Scomo will crack. He can afford to pay the difference I would think.

Gee, a nice bit of political commentary, not!

Of course the Prime minsters guideline doesn't apply to Albanese since he isn't a minister of government. that guideline applies to:

Prime Minister, Ministers, Assistant Ministers, their families and their ministerial and electorate staff who receive a gift(s) in the course of their official duties.

I doubt the trolleys were even recieved in the course of official duties, except if the transport minister was given one.

But never fear Albanese did declare the Trolley on 10 December, unlike the Deputy PM, along with Albaneses Chairman's lounge already listed.

Still as an object that has no use for Qantas, i.e. it's waste for Qantas, i'd say the trolleys have no value.

Edit: Although the Deputy PM did declare is model 787-9. Now I would love such a model that was valued at more than $300.

How about part 6 then?

6 MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND SENATORS REGISTRABLE INTERESTS DECLARATIONS

6.1 Both the resolution of the House of Representatives in relation to the registration of Members’ interests (Part 2 paragraph (k)) and the resolution of the Senate in relation to the registration Senators’ interests (paragraph 3(k)) require separate declarations relating to some official gifts. Declarations to the Parliament and declarations under section 4.1 above should be consistent in relation to the same official gift.

Well keep digging why don't you...

part 6 says there are SEPARATE declarations for those not covered by the PM guideline that was linked.

Part 6 doesn't change the fact that the trolley was declared.
