Apparrently SC land 6-8 weeks after end of promotion period. My status resets end September, so will do my last fill up on the 30th, and hope they don't post same day in this case!

They should be eligible to rollover, unless you've already maxed that out?

That would be wonderful... I don't think I'll be eligible for points club plus rollover this year, and I only just hit gold via the status match. My first reading was that you only get the rollover if your status was expiring this year - but I hope I'm wrong!

I assume that if I put $40 worth of fuel in my car, then spent $10 in-store in the same transaction, that would count.

My car’s tank is too small to put in $50 at a time. The last time I tried, I waited until the fuel warning light was on, put in 98 fuel and still only made it to $49 before the tank was overflowing (so missed out on the bonus points for buying $50 worth of fuel).
Just get yourself a 5L or 10L jerry can and fill that up at the same time. Use it to top up your car in between refills.

Edit: I might also add, $250 for 50SC is a pretty good deal! I reckon there's a good chance it will contribute to lifetime credit tally, guess we'll see in a couple months...

My wife recently solved this problem by buying a bigger car!

Bring your mower fuel can next time?

I just picture an AFFer putting petrol everywhere... when the attendant asks what's going on, the response is "I must spend $50 on petrol" 🤣

"Why are you giving me a dirty look. I'm just cleaning your forecourt with petrol!" 😅

Joking aside, while this offer sounds appealing I just can't figure out how this will benefit for me. I've qualified for QF Gold via the Status Match through November 2022 and so earning any status credits right now is pointless (or am I missing something here?) As for spending $50 in-store at BP, much of that would really depend on what's on offer at the store. If it is one of those larger full-service BP petrol stations with grocery items then it may make sense to do one's groceries down there, especially if there are specials in-store during that time (remember you just need to go 5 times to BP by 30 September).

Another possibility would be of course hiring a car a couple of times between now and then filling with petrol during that time. I'm wondering too whether car share services like GoGet which provide you with a petrol card to refuel its cars would enable you to scan your QF card to get status this way? If so, I'll be sure only to put the highest grade petrol in the car 😅

Some BP locations in Sydney do Opal top-ups. These have counted in the past.

What a great idea. I just checked the opal retailer's website and there's a BP I drive past reasonably frequently on the list. I'll duck in next time I drive past and top up my opal. Let's see how closely the people drafting the Ts&Cs have worked together with the people who coded the system!

The last BP status credits promo I tried was the "add your QFF number to your rewards account and get 100 pts & 10 SCs". I did this in the last mth of my QFF year (Sept) and then had to chase and chase these points & SCs for months. BP were hopeless, ignoring emails, then promising and NOT awarding - but I kept riding them. Finally the pts & the 10 SCs arrived in about January and the SCs were credited and debited in my account in the same transaction!! - as my year had ended. I thought about asking for re-instatement as a good will gesture over all the hassle & their laughable service however by then I just couldn't be **** dealing with such a 2 bob dud operation such as BP.
I hate these companies that are unable to fulfill the most sipmle of their promises and there are PLENTY of them out there in the QFF rewards world which continually waste our time.

I - and I would guess many others - don't need these SC's this year - we already have status gifted to us for next year (via one flight taken this year) and we can only roll over 250 maximum earned SC's from this year (if you're gold) and I have that covered already.
So - stuff you BP - I'll buy my petrol as it suits until Sept and save myself having to chase SC's that you will probably not award without having to be chased & chased.......

Rant over.

In WA (or at least the areas I frequent) BP are traditionally the most expensive brand. So this does concern me, as I will possibly be spending more to chase those 50 SCs. Hopefully things have improved since this experience of yours.

My car’s tank is too small to put in $50 at a time.
I can usually squeeze in $80 a tank, but thinking I'll want to fill half full tanks twice as often now. I usually avoid Garage forecourts as long as possible.
An extra 50 SCs is not going to help me requalify for QF Plat
I reckon it all helps. I requalified this year off the back of 10 BP SCs among others. And rolled them over to help requalify again this year.

Also having a feeling of déjà vu. The 10 SCs 14 months ago were followed by more from Woolworths Rewards and QF Hotels. Hope QF keep 'em coming and throw in another rollover. :)

Cheers skip

I put in $50 today and was tempted to drive out and back in and do another $50….🤣

(Edit: apart for the daily limit of once per day and possibly the risk of bathing in several litres more than the tank capacity…)
