Has anyone had problems with Central American ATMs.

I assume that if you have AUD on the card , you can go to an ATM say in Salvador and withdraw the local currency.

I am thinking of trying the Qantas Cash.

Has anyone had problems with Central American ATMs.

I assume that if you have AUD on the card , you can go to an ATM say in Salvador and withdraw the local currency.

I have withdrawn local currency from ATMs in Brazil using the Qantas Cash card with no issues. Unfortunately you can't load BRL onto the card, so the money will be taken from whichever is your card's primary currency using the rate on the day, plus I believe a 3% "non-native currency" fee. But yes, it should work fine.

One Downside of the Qantas Cash Card is that the PIN is not changeable.
I usually like to have the same PIN for credit cards - easier to remember.
According to the call centre, the PIN is incorporated into the card so cannot be changed!

OT (slightly): I recevied an email the other week from OzForex telling me that they are axing their travel money card. No loss for me, as I used it once, determined it was cr4p and cut it up and threw it away. I wonder if we will start to see a culling of the travel money card offerings now that users have realised how expensive they really are and are not using them.

Yeah, this is a huge pain. I ended up calling the (seemingly UK-based at the time) call-centre from a Mc Donalds in NYC after I locked my card due to failed attempts. I had the right numbers, just the wrong order...

After all this time I managed to coincide my upcoming OS travel with QFs offer of 10K points for >$5K load on QCash

I had 39 points post to my account on with the description "QANTAS CASH-LOAD BONUS POINTS 31AUG15". I'm hoping this isn't related to this promotion and so is a glitch necessitating follow-up action, though for the life of me can't remember what I did to obtain those 39 bonus points.
