Did anyone else get this offer ?
Got mine the day after the double points offer expired JUST after I booked a MEL - PER x 2 at 10 minutes to Midnight !
Damn
T & C's say if I cancel I can't rebook and use the credit on the same day

when was this?

I got mine on Wednesday, the day after my double points offer expired and 7 hours after I booked a return flight MEL- PER
My wife did not get one and I wondered f I was just targeted or whether it was general. I think your query tells me it's targeted. ?

Targeted. They are probably hoping that you will book the extra flights you need to retain your status tier.

Could you cancel and make a new booking? If the SC are more important that the points.

Damnit Qantas, where's my offer? 280 more SC to hit SG for the first time- but I'm only planning 4 more international sectors in Y before next anniversary. 50% loading on a Europe round trip would get me there.
Naturally I had two offers last year when I didn't need them...

Bugger. Would have been nice to receive that email.
For those that do have it, I'm curious... What is the time frame for valid bookings?

One of the top nineteen mysteries of the universe: how Qantas targets their offers.

We need someone on the inside.

My wife recently received the 50% offer but had a three week booking window which was excellent, it gave me time to look at various options and also got the double points offer. Not sure if you can get the double points as well though.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The first applicable offer that you register for is the one that applies. So if you registered for double points first you will get those not the bonus status credits.

My wife just received the offer but I didn't. This one is for one week to book and until 10 August to travel.
It's an interesting dilemma for us. We're both LT Silver, I'm one Business trip to Europe short of LT Gold but she is unlikely to reach that. But... we are both 150 SCs short of Gold for this year (ending 31 August). Would have been great for me to get it but that's life with Qantas.
We hadn't planned on anything before Aug but are now thinking we can get gold for her for another year with one trip worth 100 SCs (150 with bonus) which will carry us through until I get LT gold.
Suddenly skiing in Queenstown looks good!

Here's the email:

We've got 4 days left to decide.

And thanks to all contributors to this forum for some tremendous advice on all subjects.

Be careful of cancelling a ticket and using it (parked as a voucher) to get more status credits, if the original ticket was booked outside the promo period, you won't automatically get any bonus status credits - you will have to fight for it.

the reason is that the parked ticket will bear an earlier date with the booking reference.

I am fighting Qantas/Aquire over it at the moment and will take it to NCAT if I have to.

Does that work in reverse ???
If I amend a flight booked during the promo period do I still get the bonus status credits ??

i think if the flight taken is within the qualifying period you will be ok, as you are not changing the booking reference

the whole thing is driven by the booking reference
