50 SC for signing up to Qantas Health Insurance

Wait how are you able to pay for the policy using points? Does this work if you did hospital and extras cover?

In the 3rd post fifo was able to pay with points - online I believe. It never came up as an option for me. When I had to resort to the call centre I asked if I could pay with points - yes there is a one off opportunity to pay... For me I had a monthly of $53 and the payment would be 8000 points. Perhaps if you had an annual or fortnightly selection then you would get a points figure for that...

They may not - but would you want to be in an ATO database flagged as someone who pushes boundaries and is willing to break rules to game the system?
Well by your definition I am since I have done this before in the last promo, so if I get audited I will let you know

Well this morning I also received 1,867 points in my QFF account from the Qantas Wellbeing App. Not sure what that's from, but I'll take that as well ;)
That is a good surprise! The same thing just happened to me but over 6k points arrived.

I did used to have something like that amount in 'locked' points, but thought they would have been forgotten about by now. I have used the app since 2015 but only now joined an insurance product.

Does anyone know how to cancel this policy? I couldn't seem to find it under the online portal.

I just noticed my points have this posted today but no SC. What's other's experience been with this?

As a side benefit, this should pushed me over to PC+. Good way to recycle points.

Cancelled the policy today. They went to quite some effort to keep me. MrsDaver6 did similar and actually had quite a difficult time. They said they can't get through to someone to cancel and someone would call back. Seemed to be bordering on questionable behaviour.

Are you confident that your 50 status credits will arrive even though you've cancelled the policy now?

This is a scenario where prepaid Visa or MC can be handy.

I was due to cancel my policy today but didn’t get around to it.

The card they’ve been charging only has $2 left on it, so perhaps I’ll skip the call and consider it $2 well spent.

I don't see why not. I've met the criteria I believe given the points have posted. Do you have any reason to believe that I haven't?

Also, if QF drag their feet on the SCs, are you going to keep paying the fee until they do? I suppose that's ok if you're genuinely using this as your primary health insurance policy.

I do agree that according to the T&Cs, you should still get the status credits. The wording says "Bonus Status Credits will only be awarded to the primary policyholder after the policy has been held for 60 continuous days" which you have.

I guess I just feel a little uneasy about cancelling before the SCs arrive, since that was the whole point of getting the insurance for me.
