Just received this email:

There's never been a better time to book with Qantas. For a limited time, you'll be rewarded with 50% more Status Credits on eligible flights with a QF flight number on your ticket.*

You can enjoy this offer on an unlimited number of flights booked in the next 7 days so it's a great way to help get your Status Credits balance soaring.

Simply register and make a new booking between 23 December 2019 and 29 December 2019 for travel from 23 December 2019 to 21 April 2020. And don't forget to include your Frequent Flyer membership number in your booking.

Guess I'll book a few flights for work after Christmas...

I also have more potential flights in January but don't think I can lock any of them in until after New Years unfortunately!

My membership year lasts to 31 Dec - you think they might be doing these targeted offers around end of membership years?
Possibly but you’d need to travel by Dec 31 so they’ve left it a bit late If so.

Got my 50% email yesterday. Year ends on 30th April, a clear 4 months away, and I’ve already re-qualified for WP until 30 April 2021. Who knows how it works?

SO got one of these a few days ago. Her membership anniversary is in 8 months and she's on zero SC. Not sure how they are targeting this, but I suspect it's more to do with searching for flights on the QF website rather than anniversaries/SC counts

Did you do any recent searches for flights?
Yes, many (on a weekly basis) from April/May to the present, but yesterday’s email 50% offer, which I will not be able to make use of, was the first for this year.

I never get these. Maybe they know I’ll go for WP anyway. I feel unloved. Mind you though, this year I got top tier on two other airlines which would have gone their way had they incented me to keep going. $15k loss to them I suppose.

I have a list of bookings for 2020 with Qantas and other OW airlines and have explored multiple options for future trips with Qantas. But with 10 Status Credits to go to P, I am not holding my breath for the offer, which is a “ come in spinner” marketing ploy.

I haven’t had one since the last general double status credit promotion which, coincidentally, was when I first reached gold. We have enough bookings to retain gold but would love to obtain platinum once but will not even try to reach it without a status credit offer

Safe bet. I am 5 SCs off requalifying, with 4 months to go, bookings with OW partners that will click me over, and snowball in hell chance of making P1. No targeted offers for me since forever. They have my mark.

Cheers skip

Am just discovering how good SC's are on AA First Class - unfortunately even the QF call centre can't book first class seats on AA metal it seems but 120 SC's for just over $300 makes me happy!
