Nah,switching my mobile off and putting messagebank on home phone, not touching the insides of any computers for a week ,I have a dvd box set of The I.T Crowd to watch and if the weather is good I'm having a few neighbours over for steaks on the weber washed down with some of my home brew.
Cheers :!:

Poor planning on my part again!

With 4 days plublic holidays (and only 7 annual leave days needed) in a 17 day stretch I could have gone to Thailand today like my friend did earlier today instead of going late last month/early this month. Could then have easily skipped the June trip then and gone again in September.

Only problem is mum wants me home at Christmas and Orthdox Easter so I respect her wishes. She also wants me home New Years but I am keeping that to myself.

Next 2 trips are poorly planned as well with limited time in Thailand. Need to start thinking about the actual time spent in Thailand and worry less about unnecessary flights around SE Asia....

mmm Video Conference board meeting until midnight to kick my weekend off! :(

At my house we're up to Star Trek 6. Not sure what we'll watch when we finish all the movies.

I am sitting on my balcony at the holiday inn in Cairns enjoying the smell of the odd BBQ or two on the esplanade, with the occasional whiff of Jet A1 as the Friday night departures climb over Green Island. Nice to be in FNQ with no rain :p.

Was lucky enough to score an invite on to the official party and starters boat for the Brisbane to Gladstone yacht race today. The weather was perfect, the food, drink and company all great. A truly good day out. :D

Mrs and Mr Edison are going to fly to Singapore tomorrow morning on SQ A380 Y on 75H/K with access to lounge as *G, then spend 2 nights at Marina Bay Sands, then go to Malacca, spend 1 night at HI Malacca, then going to KL spend 3 nights at Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur, then fly TG J to BKK and spend 1 night at IC Bangkok before flying back on TG J to SYD. We would do a lot of eating, sightseeing, shopping and relaxing with Aussie dollar being so strong .........

Well almost ....

Last night due to change of personal circumstances, I had to madly go on to internet and making skype calls to cancel all my flights and hotels except Sheraton KL and IC Bangkok which are NOT cancelable. I have no idea what to do with those nights at KUL and BKK yet but I was lucky I was able to cancel most of them. :p

So now I have lot of time in my hands :(, and had decided to fast track my project management certification exam to mid next week instead of sometime in May. Keeping myself occupied.

Also putting body parts together in ED - on night shifts, even worse!

Am busily planning where to go on my 6 day break may 6-11 though ... taking all suggestions! NAN run is winning right now.

Im in Ireland with the folks.... Today is BBQ and a couple of cartons of Heineken, tomorrow is off to the pub for the Leinster & Munster Rugby matches, then Sunday is BBQ & more Heineken, Monday is recovery day, Tuesday is pack and fly home to Australia day...

Only 3 days here as California doesn't observe Easter as a public holiday! :( And even then it's only because our boss, fellow Aussie transplant himself, gave us Good Friday off.

The OH is arriving tomorrow so it's very exciting as we've been apart for 5 weeks now. We'll probably have a nice relaxing Sunday and go for a nice brunch at PLANT cafe and hit up some bars at the Marina - possibly the only trendy, 'LA' bit of SF where folks actually dress up or at least don't look like (or are) hobos. Will be here for 2 more weeks. It's been a long haul...

My super-exciting Easter long weekend consists of me doing housework and planning for the work trip next week -- am in the office on all the public holidays as well. No rest for the wicked..

MrKarens and I have watched 10 Star Trek movies. One to go however I've hijacked the tv to watch Casablanca.

Posting from the tourist mecca of Invercargill where I'm playing the most appalling table tennis in the NZ Veterans' Championships (note to self for future: do not change playing equipment just prior to a tournament).

However had a pleasant four nights in Queenstown prior to this, and can thoroughly recommend Amisfield Winery for a meal (a short drive out of Queenstown) - a sensational feed. Fishbone in Queenstown is very good too.

Started the weeekend in Paris. Drove to Amiens on Easter Sunday, and went to the dawn service at Villers-Bretonneux today. We got up at 3am, arrived at the memorial a bit after 4. Went to the wreath-laying ceremony in VB after the dawn service, then came back to Amiens. Little Miss & I spent the day here, snoozing and catching up with a friend who came through town to see us. Mr Katie & his parents toured the Somme battlefields for the day, including visiting the grave of MIL's great-uncle.
Tomorrow, we're off to Champagne! Hoing for no noisy scooters at midnight like in Amiens. :p

Well that's the Easter break pretty much done, surprised school is back tomorrow given we have another long weekend coming this weekend, would have thought another three days of school holidays would have made it a great break in QLD. Cairns is very quiet today, I am guessing the airport was not!

Parents in Victoria are breathing a collective sigh of relief as the kids go back to school after 2.5 weeks off. Even the thought of an extra 3 days off this week might have pushed a few over the edge :!:
