Just received this offer :-

When you buy one of the products below in the next 48 hours˜ you’ll be eligible for a free 12-month membership to epiQure by Qantas Frequent Flyer.[SUP]#[/SUP]
Be quick, offer ends this Thursday, 13 September 2012 at 4pm.
Enjoy free delivery Australia wide. Plus, you can use your points to purchase, but if you use your credit card you'll earn 1 point per dollar spent.

AFF members already using epiQure - would you recommend joining?

So what are you buying?

And I cannot see how a 12 month free membersup to epiQure would hurt.

I looked at their prices and they seemed pretty exe, pass I think. Can get a heap of points via other online wine sellers.

Interesting. My +1 got an offer for a joining fee of $59 with a free bottle of Billecart or some tawny?? The billecart goes for around $60 so I guess it's free membership. I'm considering it, as I've used up all the bonus points on first dozen and fourth dozen - start from the new account all over again.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

T&C's on the EpiQure website state "tGift is not available for complimentary joins". I was considering the same until I read this. The bottles advertised on the email are about $2 cheaper than Dan Murphy's, and if the joining gift was still applicable, I would have considered it.

If you wait for the specials you can do well. They are very competitive in some lines you need to know your market. That will never change

If you pay $60, as per what you quoted, then it isn't a complimentary membership. Also the offer specifically says that you get the bottle, so all in all I say you would get the gift.

That term doesn't apply. The joining fee is $59. It's not a complimentary join.

For the next 48 hours you can join epiQure by Qantas Frequent Flyer for only $59 or 7,500 points (saving you $40 or 5,500 points)*. Plus, when you join you’ll receive a complimentary welcome gift of fine wine[SUP]#[/SUP]. It’s your chance to access a wealth of fine wine, events and rewards.

But if you join with the $59 offer - you are getting the membership for $40 less plus the gift which is the offer I received

I got it, bought the mixed dozen. Was actually due to do another order, and am boycotting Cellarmasters for a while due to their harrassment *cough* I mean customer assistance policy (I bought 4 dozen bottles a week ago, no I do not need anymore right now! And don't call every day at 5pm).

Was going to order a bunch, then I saw it was only 1 point per $, as opposed to 3/$ after joining (if I'm reading it correctly).

+1 I've been a member for nearly a year and found a few bargains esp with Bonus Points.
The events are also good although I've not yet managed to get to one of them
As always YMMV

OK, I've said it before but looks like I'll have to say it again. This is another organization trying to palm of stuff at expensive prices in the hope you don't know what you are really buying.

These guys (Welcome To Wine Direct - Quality Australian Wines Delivered Direct To Your Door - Check Out Our Wine Club) are much better value, they don't pad with rubbish and you get (I think) 5X bonus MR points if you use a direct earn Amex.

Epiqure are normally offering wine that is rarely cheaper elsewhere, and of a certain quality such as that found in J or F. Sure they are expensive when compared to other places, but not for the same quality wine. (Cooking) Wine for under $4 a bottle, with 1000 points, Cellarmasters wins there!

I signed up using my offer ($59 signup using voucher, bottle of Seppeltsfield Rare Tawny or Billecart-Salmon Champagne for free on sign-up). While Billecart isn't my favourite champers, the price is right - and I'll see what epiQure offers me over the next year.

The marketing is clearly working. Let me put it this way, aside from my AFF addiction I am a regular visitor to a site that is frequented by Red Wine tragics, it is essentially a red wine buying guide, every day reviewing all the offers and best deals on wine across the country. There is also a well subscribed discussion group with deals and offers that gets a number of new postings each day. HAve just done a search to see if Epiqure gets a mention, none on the main site and about 10 in the discussion board, not all positive. General feeling is that they are good not great, occasional good deals but generally you can buy better elsewhere and I must say these guys are a VERY informed group.

PS. Agree on Cellarmasters, general feeling is that even with a $50 off vouchers its hard to find a good deal!

You have to pick through the offerings like any site, Seppelt Xaviers Labyrinth Shiraz was a bargain at $10. Even Cellarmasters have some good deals if you hunt, the Thomas Hyland range for $53 for 6 was a steal, while Wine market recently had a $30 off deal, with PENFOLDS RAWSON RETREAT SHIRAZ CAB 2011 (12) marked down to $52 delivered and Lindeman's Bin 40 Merlot 2010 x 6 delivered for $22, almost as good as their earlier free scrubby rise give-away.
