Hi i'm flying through Changi Singapore Airport in May through terminal one and my flight has changed to including only 45 minute to transit between flights. This seems like a pretty tight connection, should i be concerned about missing my flight to Perth? If I miss my connection as its all booked through Qantas will they book me onto a Jetstar flight or the Qantas flight on the next day? Thanks in advance

Hard to say. 45 mins is doable, if you're a fast walker and the JL flight is on time. Both QF and JL use the same terminal, but they tend to use different concourses.
If you miss the connection, they might put you on JQ133, hold you in SIN for 24 hours until the next QF72 or send you via BNE, SYD or MEL.

Looks like SIN MCT is 1 hour. I'd contact QF about it and ask about getting rerouted. Maybe to QF36/QF485.

A few years ago we had a SQ-SQ 45 min transfer that did not work-ended up on a later flight

I have had some tight connection in Singapore but never that tight. I would also be concerned about luggage

Other options for a reroute would be to avoid SIN and connect via HKG on CX or BNE (from NRT) or SYD on QF.

A 45 min connection at SIN is just to tight if the inbound is late and you have a C-D connection.

Thanks for the help, I called Qantas who said the min connection is 55 minutes, so I'm now flying via Brisbane with 1.5 hours stop over. Now on an overnight flight. What do you think my chances are of an upgrade request as a bronze? not a fan of overnight flights in Y!!! I'll be annoyed if Japan airways or ANA start flying to Perth by May

1.5 hours in BNE is a rush job IMO since you'll be clearing immigration and changing terminals which is a big time sucker.
You'll also then need to endure qantas domestic for 4 hours instead of a widebody international aircraft.

Personally I'd be a fan of missing the connection in SIN and have QF give you a few freebies for the messup which would only happen because you're on QF flight numbers the entire way.

If your arrival flight is on time, 45 mins is doable at Sin...I had a 45 min Sq to Sq transit a few years ago...as luck had it, I had to TF from T3 to T2 as well...when I got to the gate, 1/2 the passengers had already boarded. Luggage made it as well :)...just noted you have changed fights, but will leave my post for future reference re short transit times at Sin.

Both are rumored to be thinking about TYO-PER flights, I doubt we'll see anything happen before June/July. JL is still under route limits because of their government bailout. I'd expect to see a JL codeshare on the QF NRT-BNE flight before JL starts new service to Australia.
