Re: 40,000 sign up bonus on NAB premium Velocity and Qantas Crads

Got points yesterday from the first lot of card spend but no bonus :(

Did the bonus points post at the same time as the regular points came through for you guys?

Bonus points a few days later or more.

Great thanks for that I'll keep my eyes out.

Mrs had the same issue so she called up to ask where the bonus points were and was told "you applied for the 0% balance transfer offer". The agent will ring back today to confirm if they can switch her to the bonus offer as that is what she applied for. Might be worth calling to check if you've been enrolled in the correct offer!

Yes I did wonder if that might be the case. Letter of offer with the card info had the normal balance transfer rate listed though so I assumed it had gone through correctly, but I'm always wary!

Was there any indication in any material received about which offer was signed up to?

Not that we can remember. Definitely applied for the bonus points offer as haven't even used balance transfer feature! 0% is no use to us.

And I have - Qantas cards approved - I'll spend on it first and then I'll apply for the Velocity cards - what's the worst - a refusal - yeah whatever.
Spent $20 on Qantas card - applied for the Velocity card Saturday - just received approval via email - YES it appears you can get both cards - will advise when pts post to both FF accounts.

Have done the same thing today - awaiting approval.

Called up NAB Re: Not seeing bonus points yet. Was told that it could take until the next statement to come through... Seems slightly at odds with what others here have found but I don't mind so long as they arrive eventually.

Re: 40,000 sign up bonus on NAB premium Velocity and Qantas Crads

I applied for the platinum card last week and didn't get an instant approval.

Sort was expecting that they would either give me the standard card or request more info.

Platinum cards have arrived in the mail today. Wont complain, just be nice to get a bit more feedback from them.

Looks like QFF will now be just via woolworths card and bankwest savings account. here's to more USA trips :)

Same strategy for me too, bankwest savings & EDR instore/petrol on QFF.

NAB 1.5pt $1 Amex and Citibank 1pt $1 signature Visa (free annual fee) for Velocity.

Interestingly i only opened my VFF account 6 weeks ago and already sitting just under 100000pts so its working quite nicely so far :D

Re: 40,000 sign up bonus on NAB premium Velocity and Qantas Crads

With family points pooling you could get a card each with your partner and have nearly enough for o/w J SYD - LAX.

Certainly VA have better J availability to USA than QF.

Hoping to have one last hurrah from QFF and book F to LAX for next year in October. Fingers crossed QF is still flying then.

Re: 40,000 sign up bonus on NAB premium Velocity and Qantas Crads

Done - NAB Velocity Platinum cards arrived this morn - spent $13 at Woolies - will mothball both QFF and VFF card sets til pts credited then cancel forthwith - unless am offered refund of $250 and $150 annual fees in which case I will exhaust credit then cancel - jeez I love this game!

Re: 40,000 sign up bonus on NAB premium Velocity and Qantas Crads

I think I'll be quite happy to keep the card for awhile. The travel insurance certainly one of the easiest to get active with just needing to spend $500, so it covers me for reward redemption flights. At $150 for the virgin card it's pretty reasonable for the insurance and decent points earn potential, especially if you plan to fly VA a bit and rack up some bonus points on your spend.

I asked for just $7K limit so it shouldn't impact too much for taking advantage of the next lot of bonus points out there.

Had my card 2 months now......

No annual charge yet showing!

Keep it, or ditch it? Points given last month!

Oh ok - why not back up and apply for the VA one as well - they are more than happy to hand them out it appears.

I'm beginning to wish I hadn't bothered applying! I bank with NAB, and have done so for several years, and as it happens I got a letter from NAB only last month saying I was pre-approved for a limit of $10k on their NAB Premium Card. So you'd think my approval for this card would be fairly straightforward. Wishful thinking! First of all, they asked me to send a bank statement confirming my stated salary has been credited to my account for at least 2 months. I need to send NAB a copy of a statement that they sent to me in the first place? Ok, fine.

A week later I get another call:
NAB: "I'm sorry sir, but we can't accept the bank statement you sent, as it doesn't meet our requirements".
Me: "What? A NAB bank statement doesn't meet NAB's requirements of a bank statement? What do you mean by that?".
NAB: "I'll need to put you on hold" ....... "thanks for waiting. As I said, the statement you sent doesn't meet our requirements, so you'll need to send your last two monthly payslips".
Me: "My employer doesn't issue monthly payslips. So just to ask again, what is the problem with my bank statement?"
NAB: "It doesn't meet our requirements"
Me: "In what way?"
NAB: "I'll need to put you on hold" ....... "thanks for waiting. As I said, the statement you sent doesn't meet our requirements, so you'll need to send your last two monthly payslips or a letter from your employer or a Notice of Assessment from the ATO for the most recent financial year".
Me: "I'm sorry if it seems like I'm being awkward, but can you please answer my question, in what way does my bank statement - issued by NAB - not meet your requirements?"
NAB: "I'm afraid I can't disclose details of our lending criteria."
Me: "But you would accept a Notice of Assessment showing my income for the financial year that ended almost a year ago?"
NAB: "Yes"
Me: "Ok then!"

I still have no idea what the problem is, but I haven't heard back since sending my Notice of Assessment a few days back. If they come back to me again looking for more info I'm going to give up.

Jack that is hilarious - well to someone outside looking in that is - I don't bank with NAB - both applics approved without a whimper - and I regularly churn NAB CCs every time bonus pts on offer - go figure.

I'm pleased to be able to provide such entertainment!

Anyway, if they eventually decide to approve my application and give me my 40,000 Velocity points, I'll probably still go back for the QFF one! :)

Just wondering if your sign on points turned up yet?
