good to see the weekday HKG-SIN evening flights reinstated

Yay! Additional time ex per

Maybe I'm being a little cynical here, but I wonder if this means QF will drop a PER-SIN service, given the changes on this route come into play the day QF is withdrawing SIN-LHR services.

They do already pro-actively manage loads down to a daily flight occasionally so that is quite possible indeed.

It better bloody not! If they do I hope BA or CX flies Per-Sin....

Then they can continue onto LHR/BKK/HKG

Misunderstood, QF will almost certainly drop down to 1 x daily but I don't think they will abandon all together...

Hopefully this will enable the flights between the two to be retimed. 4:45 arrival into PER - come on...

I work on the assumption that QF get a lot of freight on that flight due to the timings and the added bonus of a full load of PAX in peak season. It is often cancelled.

I was booked on it in March, thankfully it was cancelled as I predicted and am now on the much more civil 0030 PER arrival. Saved a few hundred dollars and same result in the end :)

Without the connecting traffic, I wouldn't see them maintaining two a day anyway. 3K may well be doing its own thing.

I thought the point of the EK tie-up was to expand QF's Asian business, not diminish it.

Last time I flew back from LHR-PER via SIN the inbound A380 we were on was delayed into Singapore. The FA made a call for only those transporting o to QF78 to Perth to leave the plane first. He said it was around 70 people.

The flight from Singapore to Perth was full, yet only 1/4 of those PAX came off the LHR flight.

I would think PER-SIN is doing just fine as a stand alone route.

Of course there are people not directly transferring from the 380 you were on...there is the second 380, the 744 from FRA and those who might have had a stopover in SIN on the way home from Europe...

And the two BA flights which are of course continuing. In any event QF78 would be expected to stay. It's the redeye QF72 that could be an issue.
