QF have just issued an email offering a 30% points discount on domestic travel in economy.
Now that is fantastic so read your emails.
PER-MEL for 18000 less 30 % makes the one way only 12,600 points plus the small surcharge fee.
Get in quickly I would say.

Re: Qantas Economy Classic Points Sale

These sales deplete X inventory which can be annoying for those needing to travel at short notice.

Re: Qantas Economy Classic Points Sale

The offer finishes on 15th April and travel is 28th April to 30th June so this is a corker of a deal for any one with QF points.

30% off QF ecy Dom Classic awards

Just checking my members page on Qantas.com and found

Save 30% off the regular points price when you book any Domestic Qantas Classic Award* in economy from now until 15 April 2011 for travel between 28 April and 30 June 2011.
These points savings are available on all domestic Qantas Classic Awards with a QF flight number flying economy

Re: Qantas Economy Classic Points Sale

Yes QF will have high loads very quickly if they put out a reasonable quantity of Classic seats in this deal.

Yes just got the email. Why couldn't that have been available a couple of weeks ago when I was booking award flights?!!
Anyway it's still the wrong window for me.
Good discount but I'm not sure if I'll use it.

Yet another indicator that QF are expecting a soft last quarter, bring on the double SC promo.

Just did a quick check for an upcoming requirement for me to get to BNE ex ADL, direct and via CBR are same points but the taxes - $17 versus $55 ouch!

My sons are both checking sports fixtures in other capital cities so they have worked out it is a good deal.

Still looking for a good deal to ISA, and while this make the points award cheaper, I think I’m still going to wait for a QFLink sale.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Shouldn't another double SC promo have already started if it were to come for the last quarter? I'd be more than happy to see one, if lucky enough to be invited this time.

It's been late April the last two years when they sent the email.

Good deal, but unfortunately the timing is not right for me.

Re: Qantas Economy Classic Points Sale

Fingers crossed then. I think I have proved my loyalty to Qantas.
If you have too many SC's forget it!

Three years ago, my WP expired end of October; I re-earned it by Nov 8th.

Fast forward 16 months and I had less than 100 SC's in April - I received the offer.

A year later I had over 800 SCs at the same time and received nix.

As you can see I’m sitting on 360SC and a little off re-qual, I’m also far short of where Qantas would like me to be, presumably Platinum :p

Bargain for me, was just looking at booking cns-syd rtn when I got the email. Cost me 25k instead of 36... :)
