Same here ... tried two different cards ... error msg with both
I am glad it is not just me. I rang the customer help desk and they couldn't help, except to suggest I ring the customer service line (in the US). I skyped them, and after an interminably long voice recognition menu, found they were only open 9-5.30 M-F. Grrr.

I think I have missed the 15% discount.

With only a few short hours to go, I have been unable to get AA to process my request. Has anyone else had trouble with a CC purchase? ....

No problems using AMEX last night. Miles + bonus have all posted already.

OK so its just going on 5:00 am in DFW ... the Customer service should open in 4 hours ... bit late for me though I've taken screen shots

Hi,

I may be trying later tonight but in the meantime the call centre for AAdvantage is indeed open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I have done bookings at strange Australian hours. The number for them is:

1-800-882-8880

Dale.

That was the number I was given, but when I followed the appropriate prompts I got the 'office closed' message.

Just purchased 20,000 + 5,000 via the website using my Mastercard. No glitches, all done in 90 seconds.

assisted a couple to buy for trip to EUR. Opened accounts for them and 2 family members, purchased miles, rung AA found J seats, put on hold, rung back when miles showed & ticketed. All within 2 days ! CX CNS-HKG-LHR / MH CDG-KUL-QF SYD-CNS total $2700 each (taxes $102 & $164). They were happy :) First time I rang 21 min wait, 2nd time 4 min :) :)

OK, it is a AA-newbie question here.

Could you use your purchased AA miles for a SC run, assuming you have identified a suitable run?

More (or less) cost effective than using cold hard cash ???

Could you use those miles for other oneworld carriers, and if so, what restrictions should we be aware of?

Thanks

Look forward to learning a few pearls of knowledge.

You can use for flight redemptions on any oneworld airline or AA partner, but these won't earn Qantas points or SCs.

The only "redemptions" that will earn Qantas SC's are the oft mentioned ASA's (Any Seat Awards)

Thank you for the info

No SC run then with those AA miles

I was getting errors like others reported here and ended up switching to a different card before it went through. now I have a pending authorisation for the full amount on the first card I tried that came back as an error. hoping that it drops off soon.
