25 years - A Pictorial Celebration

Interesting that you rate the B787 as quiet. Their lack of (expected) quietness is the thing that has really surprised and disappointed me - especially after all the 'Dreamliner' hype.

I've only done three flights on a 787 for a total of around 26 hours .... slept like a baby through >18 hours of those. Loved it!

If you are flying F internationally with AA there is a separate dining room (or at least there was in LA - didn’t really notice in JFK.
The Flagship first dining room in JFK (they call it "fine dining") is for transcon 3 class F, or international F passengers.

Besides this TR, it's the only place I've seen 375mL bottles of Krug!

I don't know if any other prestige cuvees are sold in a half bottle size.

Great report and especially the EMP part. Tongs look cool (metaphorically).

What was the procedure at LAX coming from JFK and then before going to BNE? Arrive at TBIT, no need for security screening and walk to the F lounge?

EMP put on terrific theatre with the bottle of 1997 Chateau d'Yquem / Port Tongs - was worth the price of admission alone. In fact is was worth more than the total price we paid for the meal and wine pairing.

Pretty easy process. BP's issued and bags checked all the way through to BNE, short walk and lift to the F lounge at LAX, and no further security screening that I can remember. The lounge wasn't busy, so plenty of time for a meal and shower. No recognition of P1 status other than the reserve seating section for dining.

I definitely would recommend staying awake for the JFK-LAX leg, and then hitting the pillow for the LAX-BNE leg.

we ordered a 1/2 bottle of Krug when we had tea at Raffles in Singapore. I didn’t particularly think about it - a 1/2 bottle just seemed the right size for afternoon tea :)
