got an email overnight

can someone explain why AA would this do? what do they gain from people shuffling their miles around? more redemptions?

also - is this scenario correct?
- buy 40k miles for around $1k on 2 accounts (using one of the promos that appears).
- gift 40k miles to the other account to end up with 50k miles in each account (40 * 1.25)
- enjoy one way F ticket SYD-ASIA2 (e.g. SIN), subject to availability etc (using table from here - https://www.aa.com/i18n/disclaimers/aadvantageAllPartnerChart.jsp)

Cheers

Hi tdogshookm

Do you know if you can do multiple transfers? I read the T & C and it didn't say anything in there.

Thanks Joe

Anybody interested in doing a 40k point swap ie transfer to you 40k at the same time you transfer 40k to me?

I don't think that spending 250 USD just to get an extra 6250 miles is worth it. That is 4c USD per RDM.

It might have been worth it in the past, when RDMs counted towards 1MM or 2MM.

Buying the miles outright is only 2.75c USD (1100 USD = 40,000 miles) ...

If you're really strapped for extra miles, wouldn't it be cheaper to buy them from SPG and transfer them across?

Fair enough, hadn't checked to see how much the actually transfer could cost

SPG you get 20k for $700 then t/f becomes 25k
AA gets you 40k for $1100.

So seems AA is a bit better unless i am missing something.

Also SPG is capped at 20k when buying.
