Jetstar are flying their 788 from MEL-AKL between 26 Feb and 28 March, see here: Fly Jetstar's Boeing 787 in business class at economy prices - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller

For an extra A$30 you can select a "business" seat in the first three rows.

I'm using this as an excuse to do a couple of things that have been on my list: fly on a Boeing Dreamliner 788 and in Emirates A380 First Class.

This is what I've booked:
Friday 21 March:
QF670 ADL-MEL 06:05-07:55 - $109
JQ215 MEL-AKL 10:15-15:45 (Row 1 Dreamliner) - A$229 incl. plus pack $49 and seat fee $30
EK413 AKL-SYD 18:40-20:05 in F (EK A380) - QF Classic Award 54,000 points + NZ$108 (A$95)
Overnight at Rydges International Airport - Reward Night

Saturday 22 March:
QF761 SYD-ADL 15:00-16:35 in J - Flight included in Classic Award above

The flights should allow about an hour in the MEL F lounge (much longer if you start from MEL) and two hours in the AKL F Lounge. I can guest WP1 allowances.

If anyone wants to join me for some or all of these flights you are welcome. There is currently only one F award seat left on EK413 but plenty of J. There is plenty of availability up the front of JQ215.

You could also return on the 788 to MEL at 17:15 for only A$102++
