2027 travel plans

LuxuryLizard, I spent five weeks in Ireland, Scotland, Iceland and Greenland this year. It was one hell of a trip. Truly the experience of a lifetime.

Next year looks like possibly a Canada/Alaska trip in the middle of the year.

My travel in 2027 is going to be a bit limited.
In September 2026, my Parisian partner will move from the university-based phase to the hospital-based phase of his medicine degree.
Which means no holidays except for exam revision.
So I will only be heading to Paris and we may not even be able to do our usual side trips.
Last year we did London and Naples for a weekend each, and then a week in Singapore with a stopover in Abu Dhabi.
This year we have done trips to Madrid, the Canary Islands, Barcelona and Vienna.
I am still hoping we can revisit Spain and Vienna next year.
But it will depend entirely on his availability.
And yes I could travel without him but frankly the prospect just doesn't appeal anymore.

Any unusual suggestions for weekend trips from Paris would be welcome.

For Mr LL and myself - 2027 looks like this (so far):-

• May-June
  • SYD-SIN-AMS (SQ award booked with AC points) // AMS-EDI to be booked
  • 1 week in Scotland (no plans yet) - first time to Scotland but home of my ancestors
  • 11 day cruise from EDI to DUB on Silversea
  • 1 week in Ireland (no plans yet) - first time to Ireland
  • 2 weeks in Austria (Zell am See and Kitzbuhl)
  • FRA-SIN-SYD (SQ award booked with AC points)
• September
  • A few weeks in Canada maybe with an Alaskan cruise and a bear lodge in BC (just planned/not booked)

Recommend a visit to the Royal Yatch Britannia from Edinburgh. It was quite fun!

Hmm 2027? .... Timor Leste (again)...such an amazing and fascinating country. Definitely Cambodia as we will scout out a few locations to retire in. Maybe Thailand and Singapore for a couple of short trips.
