2026 travel plans

In 10 days time we will be heading off again. Singapore for a couple of days, during the weekend of their 60th anniversary of nationhood celebrations, then QR to Berlin for 6 days. And then just under 3 weeks in Poland.

A friend/cousin of my wife is a keen artist and wanted to attend an art symposium in Poznan and asked my wife to go along with her. I got roped into planning flights, trains, accommodation etc and then roped into going along.

Firstly I have no idea why I decided to put this in the Travel Plans for 2026 thread. After being retired for 15 years I do have problems remembering what day of the week or specific date it is but the year!

At first I was pretty reluctant but once I started planning everything out the usual excitement began to appear and I am now quite looking forward to it. In a first for us this will be our third overseas trip this year. But at 71 & 72 we plan to travel as much as e can for as long as we can.

Was there two weeks ago, and they were rehearsing for the big day. I love Singapore, everything that Australia could be and should be.

We've added a cruise to our 2026 travels. Received an email that included a cruise next June starting from Papeete and ending in Lautoka. We have kept saying we'd love to go back to French Polynesia.

Includes two nights in Papeete at the ICH, two in Lautoka/Denarau hotel tbc, cruise on NCL Norwegian Spirit in a balcony, all NCL packages, gratuities, flights through QF, all for less than if we book cruise only direct with NCL.

We've added an NZ trip for Jan to finish off school holidays. And I'm hoping to make it to WLG for the annual dinner. I'm starting to regret letting my QF status drop recently...

Very early days of planning for Taiwan in 2026. Still trying to find CR seats, but might have to pay cash if availability isn't available.

Taking the family 2A + 2C for a cheeky July 2026 School Holidays 10day break. 7 nights in Maldives & 3 in Singapore.
1st time to both for us.

Ripped thru 800k+ in points & $1500 in taxes (nicely timed before QF & SIA devals), happy with reward seat findings, challenging for 4pax over days gone by of just 2pax.
1st time transferred VA to Kris, worked wonderfully well.

Anyway 2xJ on Malaysia new A330neo, 1xJ on SIA from MLE to SIN then all 4 of us in Y+ in SIA back to Melbs. rest in Y.
Still to decide either Seaplane or domestic & speedboat to resort, obvious preference, but nothing priced nicely out there.

Looking forward to seeing how the waters of Maldives compare to other beautiful spots around the globe.
