Interesting FIA admitting they should've called a 5s on LEC
Not quite - the incident was ruled "OK" under the guidelines that existed last weekend. From the linked article:
The stewards felt at the time that it was nothing more than a racing incident.

They suggested that Piastri had had no realistic hope of pulling off the move and that Leclerc had just been taking his normal racing line.

That call triggered some unease among drivers about a precedent being set for more robust defence in braking zones – which can be a dangerous place for cars to make contact.
Since then the guidelines have been revised after a meeting between drivers and FIA stewards; such incidents will now incur a 5s penalty.

It was at that meeting that the stewards admitted they had got it wrong. Hence the change to the process.

3 Grid penalties for HAM and ANT. Honestly not sure what HAM was doing, seems like his engineer did warn him PIA was coming up behind him.

HAM reckons he didn’t get the msg and couldn’t see PIA till it was too late due to the crest in the main straight.
Hamilton admitted straight after Qualifying: "I think my mind is just elsewhere right this second, because once I’d finished my lap, I don’t know if I got in the way of someone, so I’m just trying to run that through my mind, because I wasn’t aware anyone was coming."

Oh and in related news I am on my way from going to Spa to going to Budapest. I made the mistakes of getting a seat at Speed Corner, and catching the shuttle from Verviers. In excess of 20,000 steps each day and my legs are still recovering.

The shuttle drops pax off about 2 km from the track and Speed Corner is about as far from the entrance you can get. Admittedly the choice of stand was € dependent.

In Budapest I am overlooking the main strait. 😊 🏁
Have a wonderful time @JessicaTam at the F1 today. It actually looks like a good race where anyone can win. Post updates

I have just got to the track. Pretty well organised with metro/train/shuttle bus then a bit of a walk. At least the bus drops us at one of the gates. 🤷‍♀️

I am not sure how I will go with updates as reception is pretty poor.

F2 is just finishing.

Maybe HAM didnt have his radio plugged in...
Penalty was deserved.

Good job RUS parking the car in middle of the road, didnt have the brains to get on the grass or coast to somewhere safe. Even PER managed to get out the way with no engine and brakes locked on and on fire.

Who saw HAD headbutt the microphone...lol.

Hope the race is interesting,

Great start for Oscar.

Interesting news that the skipped Bahrain GP will be held at Sepang (Kuala Lumpur) on Oct 2-4, week before Singapore GP.

Very much thinking about this one

Gutted for PIA to lose the lead like that. On the balance of things, I'd say NOR has been the faster of the two drivers, but track position is king at the Hungaroring and PIA largely had NOR covered up to that point.
