2026 F1 Thread

2014 is so back though - could we see Merc getting close to the RB of 2023? I guess Monaco (first race after new measuring for engine) will really tell - plus how crucial will Ferrari's starts be on tracks that are much harder to overtake on?
 
All I can say is Thank God the V8 Supercars are not electric...at least their races were entertaining.

Interesting news if accurate. Would have to assume Otro Capital's stake in Alpine would be the most realistic target here....

It's interesting, perhaps feeling the situation out.

I can't see them really wanting to go deep with ICE involvment, but electric side of F1 may be where they really want to get involved.

Similar thoughts here. They already have a battery partnership with Toyota, so perhaps if Toyota decides to dive back into becoming an engine manufacturer, then a joint venture with BYD could make sense. Otherwise, I’d expect BYD would be looking primarily at branding opportunities.
