2025 travel plans

I wasn't planning on going to Europe this year but was somehow talked into it by my brother last month (wine may have been involved) -- despite my reservations about visting during Summer, and at short notice. Sadly, neither of us had enough points to do J return, so we head off next week in very cheap $1375 MU SYD-PVG-LGW vv Y.

Tried to do the trip on a budget, so crossed some otherwise desired destinations off the list (like Iceland), but ended up booking London, Stockholm, Oslo, Namur BE (family visit), Cork, and Newcastle (more family).

Flights:
  • LHR-HEL-ARN (AY)
  • ARN-OSL (DY)
  • OSL-BRU (SK)
  • CRL-ORK (FR)
  • DUB-NCL (EI)

November:
Taipei and hopefully various stops in Japan (Sapporo, Osaka). I've booked MEL-SIN-TPE SQ J on points; waiting for NH J NRT-PER or HND-SYD (not likely until close in)

Update: Ended up lucking out and finding HND-SYD early on, so grabbed that - unfortunately, only the daytime flight was available, not the overnight.

Locked in the following:
  • 5 nights in Taipei
  • TPE-PVG-KIX Y (AC/NH) - 5 nights in Osaka as a base to hopefully see some of Nara/Kobe/Kyoto as well
  • ITM-CTS Y (NH) - 5 nights in Sapporo
  • CTS-HND Y (JL) - 5 nights in Yokosuka. Planning on visting Enoshima, Yokohoma, Kamakura, and surrounds.
  • HND-SYD J (NH - VFF points). An early start, but hopefully worthwhile!

Returning to Athens on Saturday for 5 nights and then Sifnos, Folegandros and Milos, a week on each island then back to Athens for a week. Lucky enough to have a unit in Alimos on the beach still owned by my wife's family, it is about 15/20 mins on tram to Syntagma Square. Feels like a long 12 months since we were there last year, I feel young enough to travel but to old for work
