2025 F1 Thread

Does PIA give up his position to enable NOR to claim the championship?
In that precise situation, probably, but only on the last lap or two...

But say it's max 1, Oscar 2 and Lando 6.. then Oscar isn't going to help because in the event Max bins it, runs out of fuel or gets DQd post race then Oscar would have given away the championship.

Hope something happens like yesterdays Supercars, a divebombing Max teammate into turn 1, ooops, see ya Lando lol
My thoughts exactly...arent 888 sooking today.
Funny thing is they will all be supporting FORD next year, while Chaz is in a Toyota?

It made no difference anyway as Feeneys car died, that wasnt Woods fault.
Was good to see Chaz win even though I dont really agree with the finals system but they are the rules.
Maybe F1 needs a finals system like Supercars and NASCAR..

I'm thinking about going to watch Abu Dhabi at a venue in SYD live - any suggestions? It'll be a lovely 12am start time, but it could see either the completion of the greatest comeback in F1 history, or a 1st world title for someone, so hopefully it'll be exciting enough. I say this now, only for NOR to breeze off into the distance after Lap 1...

Well you can gleem a lot from Qualifying too so Sat night be determine a lot too. This year has been a year of not a lot of overtakes in general.

Regarding the PIA situation, I suspect they took too long to figure out what to do (decision paralysis whether they can double stack and also if they would be beneficial) and PIA missed the pitt window. At that point they start seeing everyone else pitting behind PIA and whilst they could've pitted NOR he would've almost certainly end up ahead of PIA and caused another massive cough storm. So papaya rules again... In the cough way again.

RBR confirmed expected changes, I am surprised they are keeping Yuki on as a reserve

Yuki will be sitting back with the popcorn hoping to watch HAD fail as VER teammate as well.

He will be cranky if new Red Bull is good and evens the drivers a bit.
Whatever car I reckon VER would still be better.

Without Newey and with the new Ford-RBR engine, I think RBR and RB might be in for a world of hurt in 2026. Even more so as they've been continuing work on the 2025 car as others have shifted to 2026.

They've publicly said that their car won't be as competitive come 2026. For RBR, it'll all be about how close they can get by 2027 - that's when VER will make his call - it's not like he wouldn't have options

Yep next year is an unknown...

Plenty of drivers will be using their Get Out clauses before 2027 I think.
All teams will be waiting to see what VER, PIA, RUS, NOR and LEC do first but.
Id like to see Williams, Ferrari and Aston get better.

The order might changes but in general the first season of new regs the gaps are the largest but typically compress as teams copy each other and have more design and aero and compute time.
