Well we've had double digits temperatures for the past few days and looks to be continuing going forward. It's sunny today...... so summer will come and go pretty quickly.I'll let you know what its like (hopefully). Still planning to fly out 1st week of March on QF1.
I am now a bit more hopeful I will get out of WA

Wasn't getting out no issue, but getting back in the real problem?
There, fixed that for you.The weather is average for 364 days of the year so don’t blame you. Go later.
Same. I retired at 52 to travel. Plan was to go back to Sth Africa to do the wineries, head up to the UK to see family, then a few weeks on the NE Coast of the US before coming home via Sth America.Fed up waiting to travel. Retired to travel then one month later covid hit
Get something under your belt and press back big one to 2023. Go to South Africa next week for a two weeks, or go to UK for two weeks in May. Somethings better than nothing.Same. 2 years later the furthest I've been is Beechworth (I live in MEL).
Pretty much spend a few hours every day trying to put together a decent (same as you, 8 weeks) trip. but can't nail it. Might have to reset expectations.
I've been thinking about the World Cup (should be on leave in November) but I fear that Qatar being the host (along with COVID) will make it less of a party and way more stress than it's worth.World Cup in Qatar November with a few little ME side trips to investigate. Work is still too hectic so doubtful we get to to sneak in our usual Asia trips so would look at possibly taking 8 weeks off in Oct/Nov and combing a couple of trips. A week or so in Vietnam then a couple of weeks in Scotland and perhaps catch some rellies before heading to Qatar.
Some fantastic J deals to Europe ex Asia currently so time to start planning. No doubt we will change our minds half a dozen times but would like the majority booked and paid by May
Yeah, that’s why we have pretty much decided to use Muscat/Abu Dhabi or Dubai as a base and just FIFO to Qatar on game days.I've been thinking about the World Cup (should be on leave in November) but I fear that Qatar being the host (along with COVID) will make it less of a party and way more stress than it's worth.

Enjoy the trip -->A map from Great Circle MapperGot my ticket this week to go to MEL through AUK from LAX in April to see my best friend in person for the first time since January 2020.
HAHAHA yeah - not flying up to Alaska! Thanks for the correction. Now I'm triple checking my ticket!Enjoy the trip -->A map from Great Circle Mapper
If you get to AKL will you have access to airline lounge? Not a lot to at AKL other than look out the windows. If lucky you may see some aircraft.
