Have to ask.
1. What % of the atmosphere is CO2
2. What % of that is caused by humans
3. What % of that is caused by Australia.

Thanks Alan Jones for the questions, and the answers are :-

1. The measurement is given in parts per million, and is now 415 ppm
2. Pre Industrial Revolution the figure was around 280 ppm, so it has increased by nearly 50%
3. Australia account for about 1% of fossil fuel emissions (Rank = 16th, Rank per capita = 2nd)

But why do you ask?

Oh for goodness sake. I gave the ink I was quoting from (The Australian), and mentioned "The Oz". Not News Nine (AKA Fairfax). No misquoting.

But for the full quote you give:
"Tony was very much a terrorist. It is expected given the complete misalignment of his politics and his electorate."

... that's OK? That' s a legitimate use of the word terrorist? Really?

No it's not. But giving the full context of what was said is always best, don't you think?

The alarmist predictions by the Greens et al about the effects of a rise in temperature. You constantly see the claim that deaths from high temperature will increase.possibly but that is overwhelmed by the number of deaths prevented from the effects of cold weather.
For example the mean temperature in Bangkok that is associated with minimum deaths is just over 30C.If the temperature falls below that the number of deaths rises by a greater amount than that caused by the same rise in temperature. That holds for all cities studied.

Add to that observational studies that show the vast majority of Pacific Islands are not decreasing in size and just under 50% are increasing in size including the major islands of Tuvalu.
Cyclones, hurricanes, typhoons have Been decreasing in frequency for the last 100 years. This century the USA has gone through the longest period in recorded history without a Category 3 or higher hurricane making land fall on the US continent.
These are facts.

It’s a no brainer why they sold them. Money. Many government assets have been sold. Big part of how NSW got back into the black. Closing down because they are getting past use by date ....

You're slipping, PJF. All this is actually true!

... and I wonder if the climate change alarmists are getting to them ...

By "alarmist" you mean the climate scientists who claim that CO2 levels are at their highest in over 2 million years, or that the hottest 5 years on record are the last 5 years,?

...or they were hoping for a labour win and big government subsidies to build bird bashers and reflectors

Back to channelling Alan Jones, are we?

Just curious and wondering when the greens and lefties will also want all cement production and use to be banned as well seen as it also contributes to climate change CO2 emissions.

I know what I said was true that why I wrote it.

Oh and how long have we got is it 12 years before we all go under by the gurus analysis

Alan Jones. What has a guy who drove F1 cars got to do with this. Or is he running as a candidate for the Labor leadership

And what do those "facts" lead you (a surprisingly un-lauded climate scientist) to conclude?
Notice the link is to a reputable medical journal.
As usual Moody you never answer with facts but just personal abuse.
If you have facts and not just an opinion piece please give a link.

I say bring on Global Warming as it’s snowing heavily here in The Grand Canyon and next week is the first of summer.

Surely we can help have a discussion here without the abuse?

Sorry again, simply not true. Lots of policies on various issues. And Labor ran hard on what they would do differently.

Was it Labor or the Greens who said that the election would be a referendum on climate change? The result is in.
I’ve given up with some here.

Lot of discussion about climate change here, but it’s not the only issue on the table. Some good analysis that suggests that franking credit policy caused a lot of grief in some electorates and the negative gearing in others, and of course climate change in others, and a fair bit of overlap between them all.

Like cove I too watched some of the Anthony Green show on the night whilst in NYC. The New York Times has something about Aus in it nearly every day. Meanwhile, we at home have heaps about the US in all forms of media.

You were lucky to hear anything about Oz in the USA. Most would have no idea, or interest. Too much entertainment in their own backyard. :D

I think that’s why it’s called climate change. (Smiley face)

Apologies folks, I know I said I'd retire, but can I make that 'not engage in climate debate with people I like' ? ;)

Well, it used to be called Global Warming and they got that wrong then changed it to climate change. Which begs the question, given The Science got that wrong, what else is there.

Well, you can change the language again:

The Guardian
has updated its style guide to introduce terms that more accurately describe the environmental crises facing the world. Instead of “climate change” the preferred terms are “climate emergency, crisis or breakdown” and “global heating” is favoured over “global warming”, although the original terms are not banned.

Orwell lives on.
