Today I received my tickets for the F1 Australian GP MEL held in March.

This is My first time to Albert Park to see the action.

Anyone else a bit excited?

I'm not going but am excited.

Hopefully the 2016 season is more exciting than 2015.

Just noticed elsewhere that Maldonado recently lost his seat in the revived Renault (last years Lotus team) team - something to do about the Venezuelan money not appearing which is not surprising given the state of Venezuela's oil industry and probable sponsors. Kevin Magnussen to replace Maldonado.

Is that actually confirmed yet? I believe that was still at rumour stage?

That said things don't look good for RIC this year.
Newey sounding very negative
F1 News - Red Bull priming itself for Toro Rosso challenge

Yeah - on first appearances you would have to think than Newey is probably right, although maybe downplaying expectations a bit as well, the Toro Rosso's with last years Ferrari engine will be better than the Renault engine of last year and also probably better than the Renault engine of this year. As I said before - the best use of the Renault engine tokens would be to grind them up into a fine powder and sneak them into the fuel tanks of the Mercedes and Ferrari powered cars in parc-ferme - that's the only way a Renault engine car is going to win a race this year. Will be interesting to see if the Honda engine is improved from last season.

yes, starting to get anxious. at least they will be a bit louder this year. sitting in Fangio on start/finish line for the Qual/Race. Friday i'll be in the Gold GP Advantage Bar or Pete's Bar. if this is your first time, you'll have to find Pete's Bar for the afternoon shennanigans.

Since I'm on my own, I might head down to the Gold GPAB for a cold one/hot one depending on the weather....

hope the weather improves otherwise i'll be in the GP Gold Advantage bar too. watching the safety car go around ................. if the weather doesn't improve, i'll be surprised whether they will come out at all

Looks like no rain for Qualifying, although the fine sprinkles (more like a slightly damp wind) can thicken pretty fast.

It's still early days but I must say I find the new qually format exciting.
