I have an OK year this year. Next week im off to HK, Puerto Vallarta and Mexico City then onto Bogota in Columbia. Mostly F as this is my last US airways booking.

June i have 9 days relaxing on the outskirts on Denpasar away from the Kuta free for all. Air asia J for $650 return.

August i have an AA remdemption on Ethiad in F to London stopping of in Abu dabi for a few days then onto to Prague. From there down through Vienna, Budapest, and Dubrovnic.

Can't wait..

I have only been to about five on the list, and will pick up two more if the 2017 plan does not change.

In 2016 we aim to add a couple of new places, namely Budapest and Santorini, but have now visited most of the places on our original bucket list from when we started OS travel in 1987.

We are probably not as adventurous as some on here, but have draft plans for 2017 and 2018, so will no doubt tick of a few more firsts in the future if those plans come off.

That's wonderful, I'm so envious. You don't seem to have your arms in the air like the rest of the fam - what a great photo, you'll have to enlarge that one and use it on Christmas cards etc.

That's the moody teenager ;) I'm in the group enjoying life :D

Ah. Know that one well.
Ours was the one telling us we had ruined his NYE as a 16 year old because we had taken him to Noosa and experienced wonderful weather while all his 1000 best friends were shivering in the cold of Adelaide's Victor Harbor.

Well, we can cross that one off the list.

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Tromsø and had the best of luck with a pre-booked guide. I booked our car/guide months before arriving... lucky for us the nights were clear, although nothing visible from Tromsø, and we were able to drive to the coast (1hr) rather than 3/4hrs into Finland.

Got to see the lights, enjoyed a campfire on the beach in -19C and listened to whales breathing whist the lights were dancing - an incredible experience!

My tip - unless you have the camera equipment and knowledge to make the settings - hire a guide. I'd also head away from town regardless of conditions as you really need to get away from the light pollution.

<snip>

Now that is amazing! When I was working in far north Canada, I was driving back from the mine to the town one evening in winter through dark hills and I noticed something funny in the sky. I pulled over and there was an amazing aurora on show - quite unexpected. A wonderful sight for 15 mins, but I didn't have a camera with me. I then zoomed back to town, grabbed a camera and headed back out, but of course by then it had gone :(

I've done five of those on the list (at a stretch - a day in SFO once) - when I saw Jerusalem first I thought I might get about ten! Not a huge desire to visit most of the places on that list though. Just back from walking the Heaphy Track in NZ and can't wait to do some other of the 9 Great Walks there. It's only NZ but I think I enjoy it more every visit. Pretty easy travel.

Trying to get the family to Japan this year, I've been a couple of times for work but with mid-teens now I thought Japan would be a great place to visit for them.

This year I've got a trip to TSV in February and one to HNL in May booked in. I'll probably sneak another trip to TSV in at the end of March to meet my new niece/nephew.

Also need a trip to Melbourne to meet a niece and a family trip is on the cards in probably September or October and I expect we will end up in Fiji.

SFO and HNL March.
AKL and TBU April.
Cruise from BNE Sept.
MCO for Thanksgiving in Nov.
And the usual MCY-
PER-MCY every 8 weeks..
Now - what else can I squeeze in, lol ??

9 on that list....

Our travelling started almost 12 months ago. (old news)

March: Cruise Sydney-Singapore with a side trip to Penang, coughet and Hong Kong.
May: Cruise Sydney to Dubai
June: Cruise Rome to Rome - Mediterranean and Black Sea
July: Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia
August: UK, Cruise on the Baltics
September: USA, China
(May to September was one trip)
December: Cruise Sydney to Sydney - South Pacific
February: Cruise Sydney to Auckland
February/March: China, Chengdu (Pandas), Harbin, (Ice Festival), Shanghai (visiting son) and Singapore.

Unfortunately wife has to go back to work end of March so no more international trips planned until early next year however we will do our usual domestic trips to ADL and OOL to visit elderly parents on both sides of the family.
