Hi

Enjoyed my 120 bottle so far. Couple of queries for those with the 120 bottle Vintec:

A) Do you know what setting I should have it at? I've had it between 4 & 3 (instructions suggest 4).

B) I've left it at just on the 4 side of the 3 for the last 3 days and the temperature has been 13/14/15 Degrees. Is this level of variation normal or should it be a constant temperature?

C) Has anyone managed to fit 120 bottles into the fridge? Its seems practically impossible unless you have standard sized bottles and stack them 3 high (then too - can't really slide the shelves in/out without bottles moving).

Firstly welcome to AFF ManikThor, I have been travelling since my 120 bottle unit arrived so I haven't had a chance to fine tune the temperature yet but I think the nominated capacity is the absolute maximum number of standard Bordoux bottles and likely with a number of shelves removed. It is also interesting to read the Vintec site on how they recommend to place / stack the bottles. If you have been lurking on AFF you will have seen we have an active wine lovers section, don't be afraid to join in :)

A = it depends on the type of wine you are storing. 15 deg for red. 12 deg for white is a good guide. The lower the temp the slower your wine will mature.

B= quite normal.

C= bottle shape determines how many will fit. Play around. But 110 is probably a reasonable number.

I was advised by either Buzz or QF WP that the bottom shelf was a good spot for the Rockford wines, as the bottles are a little shorter than the
usual run of the Mill.
it meant a few more spaces opened up for me. i shall do a head count tonight and see how it looks
 
For those that got the large fridge, how did you adjust the front feet? The instructions say to remove the kick plate by removing two screws, however my kick plate also appears to be positioned behind the door hinge pieces on the left and right. It looks like I need to remove the door to be able to remove the kick plate. Is that normal?

Edit: Got to the front stabiliser feet by tipping the whole.unit back and reaching under with the spanner. I do not recommend doing this unless you really have no other choice, and don't do it alone.

Other bottles that I've found fit: Yarra Yering (e.g. Dry Red #1 and #2), Mount Mary Quintet and the eponymous Yeringberg. Will keep looking for other short bottles.

The other alternative that seems to work is to put a few small chocks into the grill (e.g. I used dominos) and put some bottles in sideways. Not as attractive a solution though.

Edit: Looks like I can fit 114 bottles. I moved the shelves so each is 5 'notches' above the one below. That lets you stack 18 (6x3) Bordeaux style bottles. Plus one shelf 3 notches above, which lets you store 12 chardonnay style bottles (half facing inwards), plus 12 on the bottom grill:
(18x5)+12+12 = 114. Haven't fully loaded yet but it's looking good
