MIB i see you're quite frustrated, it may be time to stop feeding the cow and drop back a card level or two.
The loss of MP Diamond is not great, but to be honest i'm not that keen to fly Qantas anyway unless someone else is paying.
If the Emirates benefit stays long term i'll be happy as they are a preferred airline for me.
I'm pretty sure when i joined Centurion there were no airline memberships, and it was one of things i always stressed in the annual survey. I'm still quite happy for what i get out of the card at the moment, but that's not to say i don't want more :)

I'm happy enough with Centurion it's definitely better than the first time I had it but the fees are also substantially more.

I do get the feeling that we pay more for less in Australia which is par for the course really. I'm sure somewhere someone has done a comparison but I haven't seen it

Had another response from my RM regarding MPC Diamond. Members who expire before 31st March will be rolled over for another 12 months. Members who expire after 31st March will be rolled over for 6 months. YMMV.

ok thanks. So looks like my MPC may go until 2015 feb then. I wonder if you cancel the cent membership will they stop your MPC status or will it continue until expiry..

In the T&C's when you sign up it says they will inform the airline if you cease to be a member, however i think you'll be safe until expiry.

I received a ridiculous pair of emails from my RM yesterday. The first was to thank me for my loyalty and "reward [me] with a Sanity E voucher to the value of $100". It looked like a copy and paste job though as the font colour changed midway through the email. Then, 5 minutes later, a second email from the RM arrived saying "Sorry I miss (sic) typed the value. I got a bit over excited. The value of the voucher is $50".

That made me laugh out loud.

So...did anybody get $100 vouchers? Or anything better?

Wow. I didn't even realise Sanity still existed. They must be giving away those vouchers to amex for nothing knowing 0.01% will actually get used...

In fact I just buy them and never watch them as I can never find time to watch them with Mrs sparoz whilst our daughter was asleep. Just upgraded my sound system to my first M (very cheap at the moment) but honestly not sure if we are ever going to use it

Can your card get you a table at The Quay in Circular Quay?

Yes and no. They have two Centurion tables reserved each day but, in practice, these are all taken by Centurion members anyway and demand outstrips supply.

I found the staff at Quay very helpful. I booked only two weeks ahead and all the Amex tables are gone of course. So I rang up for a waitlist explaining it is for our wedding anniversary and we are going to be in Sydney en route to hunter. Got a message on arrival there was a cancellation and we got a table. Still the most memorable meal to date in Aus.

Yes we went there last night for our 40th wedding anniversary and it was really good so that is why I asked.

Congratulations on your anniversary. We had our wedding reception at Quay so we have gone back every year since on our anniversary. I've had to remind them of that a couple of times over the years when it has been difficult to get a table...

I got an email yesterday from my RM saying he got a promotion he went for in the Cent supplier area and will only be looking after me for another week or two, wishing me best etc :(
