I got an email yesterday from my RM saying he got a promotion he went for in the Cent supplier area and will only be looking after me for another week or two, wishing me best etc :(

Well when I had plat my RM contacted me every week since I went back to Cent' I have heard Jack Sh!?? from anyone not that I'm bothered mind. When I ring though they're all very accommodating and I didn't like the other guy anyway

You guys (and girls) make me laugh :!: I think that you will find that the so-called RM concept which is a farce, is on it's way out.

Do you guys still see the marco polo membership in your centurion/platinum login in the benefits directory?

I logged into platinum and it's no longer there....

So, got a letter yesterday from Cathay tha my diamond has been been extended to Nov 14 as per my RM said. What is interesting is that Cent now offered a lower milage/alternative way of attaining status. For Diamond, we only need 60k miles or 40 sectors; 30k or 20 sectors for Gold, and 1 club sector in first or business class on Cathay or Dragon air for silver; Green - is complimentary. Now, can QF flights go towards CX? Only if there is a way to use our points to get earn a status flight in CX :) at a discount rate.

Not good, but not as bad as we thought it might have been.

I would not choose Marco Polo/Asia Miles over QFF if it were not a 'giveaway' and certainly not without a guarantee from Centurion of it being an ongoing benefit at Diamond level. Of course you already know that is not the case.

I think you are much better off accumulating and keeping QFF which has lower qualifying hurdles for elite levels, though those new qualifying numbers you mention approximate qualifying requirements foe MP Diamond that are about the same as QF WP, but QFF offer lifetime status and soft landings as well as far more ways for Australians to earn points. Plus who knows how long the Centurion miles 'deal' will remain valid. My view would be - Avoid. I think this Centurion arrangement with Marco Polo has been poorly negotiated, managed and delivered to members. As always YMMV

Mrs Blessed and I are off to USA tomorrow. NYC, LA and Miami. White xmas! Not been in 6-7 years. Does anyone know if there are any bar/club benefits that US Centurion members (and hopefully extended to international guests whilst traveling) have access to? There's a list in the Centurion portal for Australian bars/clubs. I asked concierge night team - said they were unsure and would ask day team to advise in the morning. Also did a quick google search but didn't return any positive results.

Not looking for anything specific. Just thought might be worth asking incase there's an experience to be had!

Cheers

Any luck finding benefits ?

Concierge sent through an email this morning. "Due to exclusivity of the bars and clubs Centurion US does not have any partnerships". I thought Centurion was all about exclusivity! They sent through a list of 10-15 places in each city and said they are able to call / making a booking or attempt to get my name onto guest list. No guarantees. Guest list fee and minimum table fee will usually apply.

To be honest I did expect more from Centurion USA.

To be honest you shouldn't have.

Do yourself a New Years favour. When your card is up for renewal drill a couple of holes in it and chuck it in the garbage where it belongs. You will be so glad that you did :D Keep your well earned $5000 a year rather than give it to a credit card company. seriously I think that the product is absolute rubbish for the money and fails to deliver almost anything of value anymore. As always YMMV

So skiing in Niseko & have to pay for everything on Amex as the one international ATM doesn't accept my fully loaded prepaid MasterCard or take the CBA cirrus card

It gets better though the Japanese merchant terminals swallow the card whole & every single time so far the metal one gets stuck because it's too heavy to spit out so the manager usually rocks up with a screwdriver.

OMG :( this is driving me nuts!!!!
