1995 Qantas Flights

hmmm...I obviously wasn't very switched on back in those days! although my ticket included access to the FCL ... I remember the SYD one was down the escalators at the time.
Actually, the FCL was to left of entry, at the same level as the entry. The JCL was down the escalators to the right (although, in 2006 while the current FCL was being built, that downstairs area was used as a Temp FCL).
Wow serfty, I'm very impressed with your collection of Qantas records. Would you happen to be able to find the flight numbers/equipment/flight dep/arrival times etc. of Qantas flights between Sydney and Auckland in February 1996? (My first ever flight was SYD-AKL on the 12th of February, 1996 and I've been trying to work this all out for some time!)
I'll try - the timetables are not with me but I suspect the most common one was QF43 (a 747).

I'm confused. Were there separate lounges back in 1990's?

Mid 90's I don't there may have been only the downstairs, but certainly in the later 90's and early 00's before the Mezzanine was set up, just before and across the concourse from the SYD Int Gate 22 waiting area there was an entry/service desk.

Enter and turn left to an FCL (small, seating perhaps for 50-60), right and down escalator was the business area.

Qantas flew to Vienna? If only....!
Some places QF used to fly to:
Buenos Aires, Vienna, Nassau, Bahrain, Bermuda, Toronto, Vancouver, Beijing, Guangzhou, Cairo, Nadi, Paris, Papeete, Frankfurt, Athens, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Tehran, Rome, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka, Sapporo, Kuala Lumpur, Beirut, Mauritius, Acapulco, Mexico City, Amsterdam, Rotorua, Karachi, Belgrade, Seoul, Madrid, Colombo, Trincomalee, Damascus, Taipei, Istanbul, Manchester, San Francisco, Ho Chi Minh City, Harare

Some were cut because of better aircraft no longer needing a stop. Others were cut because they decided they didn't want to go there anymore.

You've forgotten Denpasar! Although quite a few on the list (Vienna, Nassau, Bahrain, Bermuda, Guangzhou, Cairo, Athens, Delhi, Kolkata, Tehran, Beirut, Mauritius, Acapulco, Mexico City, Amsterdam, Karachi, Belgrade, Madrid, Colombo, Trincomalle, Damascus, Istanbul) probably haven't seen a regular QF service for many years (certainly not in the last 20 years).

And if you add an i to the QF (ie QFi) you could add ADL & DRW to the list!

Didn't QF25 at one stage go to YVR? It may have done SYD/CNS/HNL/YVR or SYD/BNE/CNS/HNL/YVR possibly.

To add a couple of data points and to confirm that ozbeachbabe is correct:
In Dec 95 the flights were QF25/26 SYD-HNL return. Equipment was B742 on both legs. I can't remember if the flights continued on to Canada or anywhere else.
But by Easter 1997 it was QF 3/4 on the SYD-HNL route and in both Mar and Dec 97 the flights were QF 3/4 SYD-HNL rtn. Equipment was B743 on all four flights. In Mar 98 SYD-HNL QF3 was a B742 and the return was a B743.

It was the third of those trips to Honolulu that prompted me to join the QF Club for the first time and the great points and SC chase began. I wish I knew then what I know now!

Has anyone got a timetable from September 1990?

I am curious where the transit point was in SE Asia on the SYD-ATH flight. I vaguely remember exchanging AUD5 to get a soft drink.

Didn't the SYD/ATH go through MEL too? I'm thinking it did SYD/MEL/SIN/BAH/BEG/ATH as QF15.

I have a feelng it might have been via BKK - to match the Olympic Airways flight?

On the QF15 -in 1976 it routed MEL-SYD-DRW-BKK-DAM-ATH-BEG-Paris!!

Not in 1990. I think I had 1 transit only.

I had a feeling it was SYD-SIN-BKK-ATH (like 3/week) and SYD-SIN-BKK-Rome 3-4 a week??

Doesnt fit with your one stop theory though.

There is a schedule from 1991 available online somewhere. It has been posted here before but being at work I don't have the time to find it...

Definitely only 1 stop as I counted each sector as a flight until I started flying more in 2003.

Singapore.

interesting QF were operating 743s with 18F/65J SYD/HNL

What is interesting about it? The world of airline travel has changed quite a bit over the years. Believe it or not there was a time when only the filthy rich could fly!
