Can someone please explain what's the difference between "Gift" and "Transfer"? Both seem to charge an amount of money for it to send to someone.

Gift miles said:
Gift Miles allows you to 'gift' up to 30,000 miles in any calendar year in increments of 1,000, bearing in mind that the maximum that any one member can receive as a gift is 30,000 miles.

Transfer miles said:
You can transfer up to 120,000 miles in any calendar year in increments of 1,000, bearing in mind that the maximum that any one member can receive as a transfer is 30,000 miles per calendar year.
