Re: Pre-release exclusive for AFF – Virgin Australia Reward Seats on sale (19/4 to 30

Nope. Going to go to bed and try again in the morning. Hopefully there'll still be availability.

Re: Pre-release exclusive for AFF – Virgin Australia Reward Seats on sale (19/4 to 30

:-( read the T&Cs this afternoon for any hint of a start time, but it just says the 19th.. looks like it will be rush hour on the Virgin servers tomorrow morning then!

Re: Pre-release exclusive for AFF – Virgin Australia Reward Seats on sale (19/4 to 30

VFF, in the terms and conditions it says a booking and service fee will apply when paying by credit card or debit card when the payment amount is $50 or more. Is it a booking and service fee or Credit Card surcharge and airport tax fee?

Why can't I use POLI for a rewards booking?

That’s right, due to popular demand, our Reward Seat sale is back!

Between 19 April and 30 June, you will be able to book Reward Seats on Virgin Australia at a 15% discount.* You can take advantage of this offer in any cabin class, on any flight marketed and operated by Virgin Australia. There are no travel date restrictions – the discount applies to any Reward Seats on flights that are open for booking during the duration of the promotion.

You may also have noticed that Velocity does not charge a fuel surcharge on Reward Seats. We think thats pretty rewarding coupled with great availability.

We wanted to give the AFF community an exclusive pre-release heads up so that you won’t miss out. Full details will be posted on virginaustralia.com/velocity when the sale commences, so make sure you check out our website soon.

Any thoughts on where those cashing in those points might be taking you to?

Re: Pre-release exclusive for AFF – Virgin Australia Reward Seats on sale (19/4 to 30

The sale is now active so get to it people!

I had an existing long haul booking in W but managed to cancel it yesterday with no penalty and rebook this morning in J instead, and scored row 5 both ways. Yeww.

There's no mention of the sale on the front page of http://www.velocityrewards.com.au so we might be the only ones in the know for a little bit longer.

Is it just me or is MEL-OOL via SYD actually MORE expensive with this sale...? Was 21800 now 24400 :/

So on some routes at least they've apparently jacked up the price just before the sale....

Correct! As observed on the other thread - by much more than 15% too!

Called up to cancel my status run for tomorrow. Prepared to accept the $35 cancellation fee in order to rebook the run with the 15% discount. Call centre staff waived the cancellation fee 'as a gesture of good will'. Sometimes things just work out perfectly!

Thanks VA - having a sale like this and not crippling it with very restrictive dates or excluding long haul flights has me feeling a fair bit more warm and fuzzy towards you than has been the case for a while!

Kudos to VFF for taking a situation where there was no interaction to one where we get exclusive advance notice!

SYD-LAX J on VA looks pretty good value to me right now, especially with 15% bonus on credit card points transfer to VA!

Unfortunately with Junior crying for milk, I cannot get myself to go to LAX right now!
