Hi everyone I just booked classic rewards flight for April 2026 from Brisbane to Manila on Qantas. I thought that by booking now I would get the current rate before the increased points requirement / increased costs kick in on August 5th.

I paid 68,400 pts and around $208 in taxes, is that correct? My understanding was that it should only be around 57,000 pts if booking before August 5th?

The actual distance between BNE and MNL is about 3600 miles, so it’s just on the cusp between two reward bands (57K and 68.4K). So they must price into the higher one.
