Qantas Changes Acknowledgement of Country arrival Announcement

This repetition doesn't do anything to amplify the message, it just dilutes the significance of the message.
That might be because you are a top tier frequent flyer.

Many pax fly no where near as often, and will only hear the message a couple times a year, at most.

But that is fairly moot now as the acknowledgement has been simplified to the place name only.

What would maybe make more sense is actually bringing a bit of culture into the announcements? SAA says Sawubona rather than “howzit”, NZ Kia Ora rather than “choice bro”. It’s an actual acknowledgement of their culture, rather than a condescending statement that foreigners wouldn’t understand and Australians are sick of hearing multiple times a day.

This for many is an extremely sensitive issue.
As it does relate to travel, we would appreciate if members could restrict their posts to referencing the acknowledgment as now expressed.
Comments outside that narrow band will be deleted without warning and member(s) making such may be subject to further sanction.

It has become clear that some members can’t discuss this without veering away from the specific topic; which was the acknowledgement as articulated after landing.
The moderation team tried to define a narrow focus to avoid such but this has been in vain.
This post is numbered as 65 and is the last of the thread - since its genesis, various members have received sanctions and no less than 21 posts have been deleted.
Enough! This thread is now locked.
