I see Qantas are offering their AMEX card with no annual fee for the first year.

Has anyone taken up these offers and then cancelled the card at 11 months to avoid the first annual fee?

In theory you could keep signing up for new cards as new offers come up.

Apart from the risk of forgetting to cancel at 11 months, any other risks?

- They may not give you a new one when you try it for the 2nd,3rd,4th time....
- Credit enquirys each year on your record

They could withhold points on you i guess but not a huge issue with doing it, if you just don't want to pay the fee then you ring them at 11 months and they will sometimes comp you the next year, but i know you want the points !
