Got a flyer in the post today for the Qantas Earth AE/MC cards: promo in a nutshell is basically that u get 10,000 bonus points and annual card fee ($75) waived for first year after first 3 spends on it. Apply b4 Jan 31st, 2010.

Promo code: EAAFZ

The card looks coughola TBH but I will be changing to take advantage of this offer and dodge my Plat annual card fee that is falling due around the same time ;)

Yes I got that offer today too.But mrsdrron being now WP got her offer 3 days ago and was for the Platinum earth card.$250 a year with a bonus 25000 points.code EAAF3.

Good to see a few new CC sign up offers starting to come out. I'm guessing there is an intermediate offer for the Gold card floating around somewhere?

Your spider senses are sharp indeed. Mrs. Benhadi got a gold offer in the mail today for 15k.

Are you sure about the fee not being waived? It is waived for the Standard and Platinum offers and it appears that they are currently waiving fees on all cards from the T&C on their website:

A joining fee usually applies, but Westpac has arranged for this to be waived for new Earth, Earth Gold or Earth Platinum cardholders where card applications are received by 31 December 2009. For more information on the Qantas Frequent Flyer program visit qantas.com/frequentflyer. Annual fees on Earth cards are subject to change and are currently: $75 for Earth, $125 for Earth Gold and $250 for Earth Platinum.

An exising silver member being upgraded to gold is not a new member though.

I thought when kezsco said "offered to Silver members" he/she meant offered to Qantas Silver FF members (because the standard Earth card promotion was offered to Qantas Bronze FF members). Thus, you would be a new member as long as you do not currently have an Earth card.

Good call. I'll go sit in the corner with my dunce hat :)

I wonder if their system is smart enough to catch a NB applying as a WP to get the 25K points.

I'd be VERY tempted to try for 25K of free points, and a 1.5 : 1 earn rate on teh AMEX for a year

I am in the corner with the dunce hat as well...

Fee is waived if application is in before Dec31. Didn't see the first term on the homepage. It's not a term on the direct link that you access from the offer that they send you. Hope they still honour it.

The code was for Silver Frequent flyers.

It appears thet these offers are only available to FF's with QF status, is this correct.

I received a 40K bonus pamphlet with my *&^$*#&^# new fangled QFF statement.

Things You Should Know said:
  1. Offer only applies to Platinum Qantas Frequent Flier Members as at 14 Dec 2009 who have been personally sent this brochure.

I think that's the QFF joining fee, not the card Annual fee.

I think you might be right. My mistake - sorry.

I am curious as to whether they will enforce the condition that certain offers are limited to certain QFF levels.

10k Earth offer with fee waived www*earth*com*au/edm/member/ (substitute * for .)

15K Earth Gold offer with no fee waived www*earth*com*au/edm/offer

Anyone have the addy for the 25K Earth Platinum offer?

So is this offer exclusively tiered by status level? In other words, NBs who might otherwise be approved for the Gold/Platinum cards will only get the bonus if they apply for the standard card?

And dare I ask - have any NBs tried applying for the other cards with those codes? Are they going to be pushing the 'personal invitation' barrow down the line? ;)

I got the bronze invite along with the rest of the family including the kids via an email from Qantas lastweek. 10k points no fee for a year for the base earth card.
I certainly would qualify for a Platinum card, annual spend on current card >$50k however when I rang Wastpac they advised that I could only get the 10k bonus for the standard card, the other offers are base on status. I assume that if you apply for a platinum with the relevant code you would probably get approved for the card but no bonus when the confirm your FF status.
I have been thinking about changing to a dual card system and the 25Kk bonus would certainly get me on board but no joy.
