The 100k offer is back for the Qantas Amex Ultimate Card!

This is Amex's top Qantas card and includes benefits like a $450 Qantas Travel Credit each year that offsets the $450 annual fee, a very high earn rate of 1.25 Qantas Points per $1 spent on everyday purchases, four airport lounge entries each year (two Qantas and two Amex) and travel insurance.

You'll get 100k bonus Qantas Points when you apply by 22 April 2020, are approved and spend $3,000 in the first 3 months. I'll receive 60k Qantas Points if you're successful - and would be extremely grateful!

Thanks in advance - and if/when my referral cap is reached, I'll ask an admin to remove my link from this post so others can benefit.

Here's my referral link:

Happy travels!

I know its a long shot, but if anyone would like to take pity on someone who has never got a even single referral ... (and whose points would go towards getting elderly parents on a flight)... try my link!

Thanks!:)

@Doctore1003 rightly identifies that a generous offer has now returned (although it has been 120,000 points previously but that type of offer is very rare).

@Doctore1003 provides some useful information about this offer, I would add/highlight for AFF members:

1) At no extra charge you can add 4 supplementary card holders - very useful for maximising AMEX cash back offers as often discussed in this thread: New [Amex] statement credits

2) Complimentary domestic and international travel insurance

3) Complimentary Qantas Wine Membership

4) 18 month exclusion period if you have previously held another directly issued AMEX card will apply, but this exclusion does not apply if you have held a David Jones and/or a Westpac co-branded AMEX card.

5) The $450 credit must be used in one booking. But you can book flights 12 months ahead, cancel the card and still keep the booking.

6) AMEX has one of the easiest credit criteria to satisfy. Even if you have been rejected by other credit card providers AMEX may still offer you a card.

7) Paying even $1 as a Qantas carbon offset may lead to the awarding of the Qantas passes (Qantas Future Planet - Great way to activate eligible QF Spending on Credit Cards)

8) Low credit limit possible with this card (helps with having other cards simultaneously)

I, too, would be extremely grateful if anyone signing up for this card would consider using my referral link

Of course, I receive a benefit by you doing so.

I've received this card after applying via a referral link from an earlier offer, and would be thrilled if anyone would bestow a 60k bonus upon me by clicking here and applying via my referral link.

The 100k bonus you'll receive as the new cardholder is almost the highest it's ever been (it was 120k late last year), though a key difference this time is that you'll only have to spend $3000 within 3 months to receive the bonus, rather than a higher spend target.

And, by using a referral from the forum rather than an affilliate website or going to amex direct, a friendly AFF'er will get a tiny bit closer to their next holiday.

If you apply by April 22, 2020, are approved, and haven't held an amex-issued amex in the last 18 months, and spend $3,000 in 3 months, you receive a whopping 100,000 points. In exchange for the $450 annual fee, you receive a $450 travel credit to spend on QF-coded flights, 2 lounge passes after QF spend, access to amex cashback offers, and more.

Some things to consider when applying for this card:
  • Amex conducts a credit check after you finish page one of the application form - not after completing the whole form. So only start entering details into the form if you intend to finish it!
  • You can activate the two free Qantas Lounge passes, which are delivered to you digitally, with any spend over $1 with the 'Qantas Air Australia' merchant. Here is one very affordable way to do it that worked for me recently.
  • Flights commencing overseas, shopping at the Qantas mall, Qantas Hotels, Rental Cars etc do not activate the lounge passes.
  • The minimum credit limit is $3k - keep your application low if you're only in it for the bonus points and want to reduce the impact on your credit score!
  • Finally, unless you absolutely must - hold off on applying for supplementary cardholders at first. Amex often send out offers to give you a bonus 5k points for adding them later - so if you're a little patient you may be rewarded!
Again, would be greatly appreciative of anyone who uses my link! Would be glad to answer any questions about this card if I can assist. If my referrals are used up I'll ask a mod to remove my link.

Woah, have they upped it to 60k?! I'm ineligible for another 17 months :)
Yep, biggest referer bonus I've ever seen:

The T&Cs have been updated with new limits too:
  • Cap Referrals: You may only send referral messages to a maximum of 20 friends and the amount of Bonus Points you may receive under the ‘Refer a Friend’ program is capped at 200,000 Points for referrals made between 13 February and 22 April 2020. This is in addition to the 200,000 points cap you receive for the year under the ‘Refer a Friend’ program.
Oh, what a dream it would be to hit that 200k limit!

Throwing my hat into the ring as well if someone is thinking about signing up for this card. :)

You'll earn 100k Qantas Points if you apply online by 22 April 2020, are approved for the Qantas American Express Ultimate card and spend $3,000 within the first 3 months of Card Membership.

If anyone would like to use my link it would be appreciated. Trying to save points so I can surprise my partner with a round the world trip in business class for her retirement. Thanks in advance

I started reading the full terms today and they are ok.
The ones for this referral offer? It seemed a bit confusing how there are seperate annual caps to the points you can earn through referrals.

Yes ours is 60,000 referral and 100,000 for the new player. I sent it to four who might qualify yesterday as both Mrscove and myself can do some seeing we have held separate Amex Ultimate cards for years..
There appears to be a 200,000 referral cap so 3 each at 60,000 would be ok.

Wouldn't it be nice to get near that cap. 2/3 of the way to a oneworld classic redemption!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Last minute update ... anyone who refers via my link, please send me a private message (for karma) ASAP. 😇

Speculation about points club is increasing, with some members reporting status showing up in their QFF accounts. This card remains a fantastic way to get there quickly - 100k on your sign up, then refer your significant other or a friend on AFF to get 60k, and hit the 150k points club tier.

However, based on one anecdotal example, applying sooner might be in your benefit, as there seems to be a 125k limit on points-club-eligible transactions on the same day. i.e. if you get paid your 100k bonus, and a 60k referral bonus on the same day, only 125k will count towards point club status. So you may wish to target it to get your card, refer a person or two to get the 60k in month one, then hit the spend criteria to get your 100k in month two (amex normally allocate the spend criteria bonus to your account the minute you hit the threshold, and it is then transferred to you a few days before your statement that month).

Lastly if your membership year is restarting soon, there's (now unpublished) evidence to suggest points club year is linked to membership year, so if you are resetting soon (say 1 April), you may want to time things so that you get paid your 100k (as well as any 60k referral) bonuses in your new membership year.

Appreciate this is a little OT for a credit card referrals thread but thought it relevant to anyone trying to make the most of this significant bonus and referral combo.

I would be honoured if anyone would consider using my link, with the bonuses for you and me posted earlier in this thread, to start your journey.

Just under 3 weeks to go with this offer.

Who knows what the future holds, this may be one of the best offers for 2020 and Qantas points seem a lot safer vis a vis Virgin.

Don't wait until the last minute is my advice.

My referral link here for your consideration:
