It would appear that it is not possible to book flights to PWM using gift voucher. Only PDX is possible.

Glitch? I guess you can call and find out.

Hmmm, does seem odd. Thanks very much for your help either way, guess I'll either have to fly somewhere else or not get the extra points.

Cheers

Try calling to find out why. You can say you are thinking of buying a gift voucher for someone to travel to PWM but you cannot select it.

I have called and got them to book an itinerary I couldn't book exactly how I wanted and used a voucher.

Call and push back on any telephone booking fees should they try that old chestnut.

Under Australian consumer law, they cannot charge a penalty for an itinerary that cannot be booked online.

You can book it online. But not using vouchers.

Pushing can depend on how hard you want to try.

Just making sure before I take the plunge: can anyone with a voucher confirm that I'll be able to book SYD-KIX return (via NRT)? I was a bit unsure because it involves connection to Jetstar Japan.

The GK flights appear to come up OK.

It says this year that they won't issue a residual voucher for less than $2. In part that makes me think they have fixed their system and the residual vouchers will issue easier.

Think again unfortunately. Used $298.00 of a $300.00 last week and in the process of chasing them up. I first called and the guy I spoke to said that he 'doesn't think they reissue vouchers for that amount... I think it's less than $5'. Realising I wasn't going to get far here, I have now emailed them instead. Hopefully will have more luck.

Not giving me much confidence the bonus points coming through now...

Should add though I have been lucky with QF vouchers in the past. Last year bonus points and residuals all came in as expected. I didn't use the vouchers straight away though.

[*]Of course, there is the risk that the sale expires or fare bucket runs out while arranging the voucher.
You can always have 2-3 $50 vouchers lying around.

With Virgin I purchase a ~$900 voucher and use at times when a sale comes up. No point having smaller amounts on Virgin voucher as you still have to pay the credit card surcharge.

I purchased a $1000 voucher in the 2013 promotion and used it last week to purchase travel in Jan 2015 requiring an additional $2300. Unfortunately due to a change in work schedule (completely unexpected and unfortunately I will need to work to the new schedule) I may not be able to travel as planned.

When looking to cancel the flights online it indicates I will receive a credit voucher for $3300 which must be used by December 24. Is there any way of receiving two vouchers, one for $1000 to be used by 24 December and a second voucher for $2300 with expiry next November? Although I understand the conditions of the original voucher it seems unreasonable to ie in the additional $2300 with it.

I bought the voucher yesterday but haven't got any email yet. Any idea how long does it take normally to "deliver" these vouchers?

Called on Saturday, added some notes talked to her supervisor and advised me they're on it and to call back on Wednesday.

Called Today, Spoke to a nice women that tried to sort it out and advised me to wait for it in the email. Said that it should come within the next 7 days.. fingers crossed...

I bought a voucher on Saturday and it still hasn't been delivered. Good thing I wrote down the PNR.

If you have the PNR you can probably go ahead and redeem it, if you wish.

I bought a voucher this morning - emailed within 5 minutes and then flight booked within 5 minutes more, easy...

From the vouchers I am using from last year, the balance is reissued in another voucher/PNR usually within the hour - again easy

But I thought somewhere upthread it was mentioned that using the voucher before receiving the email will result in points crediting hassle later on :(

There may be hassles no matter what. Time will tell.

Don't cancel online, call up and get $2300 cash refund and your $1000 voucher back.

Would love to hear if anyone has successfully booked a QF codeshare flight using a voucher.
Have you tried? It should be possible.

I have just tried using a voucher for BNE-CNX and I am offered both QF coded flights and PG coded flights to choose. I have selected the flights and gone to the review stage so I think it is possible.

I have even tried SYD-AKL and it offers the QF codeshare on EK metal.
