10,000 Bonus QFF Points for opening an IG Share trading account

I wonder how difficult this is to open.

With trades only at $8 & free bank transfers with no minimum withdrawal, I'd be happy to make a buy & sell trade on a blue chip the same day (should only lose minimal on the bid/ask - unless something completely unforeseen happens). So come out this with 10k point for most probably roughly $20.

But, if it is a PIA to open, then that makes it much less appealing to do..

Just read about the offer on facebook,

Does anyone have an IG share trading account?

I cannot find anywhere in the T&C where it mentions minimum trade amounts,

Hopefully its an easy way to earn 10,000 points

Thanks
I've registered too
Also you can load with PAYPAL - .5% for M/C, 1% for VISA and 1% for PAYPAL. I have an AMEX linked to my PAYPAL so effectively 1.5 points per dollar for the load.
Now to trade something secure to get the 10,000 points and not lose my shirt !

Dead easy to open an account

What type of account did you open? Is there a minimum deposit/transaction spend?

Executed a trade on Friday 17/11 and points including the bonus credited yesterday 20/11.
Now to transfer the holding across to my main account. :D

I also opened an account today - very easy and got a phone call from IG about 2 minutes later asking if I needed any help.

One downside for those who might be considering using this as their main account - they do not allow share trading accounts to be held in joint names. The guy on the phone said I could give my wife a power of attorney so she could trade on my behalf, but the full tax liability would still be in my name. Sounds like a great idea - not!

Anyway, I plan to do what was suggested above - buy an ASX200 ETF or something along those lines, then sell ASAP.

The minimum deposit is $450. However, I assume there is no minimum trade amount, so you wouldn't necessarily need to spend that much. In any case, if you're going to sell again on the same day it won't make much difference.

Will you get points for this though? Or will they treat it as a cash advance? Perhaps by going through Paypal they won't? I guess if you're only loading the minimum $450 and therefore only paying a $4.50 fee, it's not exactly a big risk either way.

I've just completed two trades today - bought this morning and sold just now for a nominal profit of $1. After paying the 2 x $8 brokerage on the way in and out, that means I've effectively paid $15 for 10,050 QF points. I think I'll get my wife to do the same tomorrow!

@Jack3193, how will you transfer your cash out of the trading account, is it in the normal way?
I have to wait for the trade to settle, but it seems very straightforward - just a matter of going to Payments>Withdraw Funds and requesting the funds be returned to the card I used to deposit. It states "Withdrawals will usually reach your card within three to five business days".
