Not sure where else to post this new thread so Mods please move if necessary! I almost fell off my chair when I saw this special price at DutyFreeStores... Dan Murphys stocks the 700ml at $45 and often on special at $40 so I'm assuming the 1L would cost ~$60? The sophistimicated alcomaholic in me likes very much.

I'm travelling to NZ in July but will look to make my DF purchases now especially with the AUD/NZD at $1.275.

Bombay Sapphire 1000ml

This offer expires 14th Feb.

Saw that too; planing to avail myself when I'm next heading to Oz from NZ in April. (Will be there next month; but heading onward to USA)

The other day I picked up a Sony DSC-S930 for NZD99. (Basic Camera, but better than what I have .... mini serfty broke the lcd display on my 5 x optical zoom, 10Mpix camera on a school camp late last year).

Such a shame that the special is only on Sapphire - would much rather have a Plymouth or Tanqueray gin instead!

Excellent Find - Thanks to the OP. Got a few ready and waiting for our return flight to SYD next week. So cheap may also avail one on outbound for a good weekend in AKL!

If you ever go to NZ it is worth having a look and registering to get the news letters.

NZ Duty Free Stores.

And sign up for their free loyalty card. 20% off regular purchases, and they're delivered to the airport. Every time i've used them it's been much less hassle than shopping at the airport. I just cruise by the pickup area, show them my receipt (printed) and they hand me the goods. Too easy (and usually a bucketload cheaper than DFS)

Tanqueray all the way. You can't even taste Bombay - you might as well drink Vodka.

Aye, it's the gin for Vodka drinkers ;)

For me it's Plymouth for G+T's and Tanqueray 10 for anything more serious.

Beg to differ. I fine Sapphire more flavoursome than Tanquery, but I don't mind either.

Like notzac, i'd prefer plymouth over either though.

Not to get into the subjectiveness of the issue, however I find tanqueray horribly rough! Much prefer Bombay...

Does that make me a 'vodka' drinker? LOL, as I don't really like Vodka that much either...

That is what I meant to say also :!:

+1 to that - BS is definitely the preferred fuel for my martinis and MrsDrJ's G&Ts. I find Tanqueray to be very similar to Gordon's for a higher price.

Pity this offer wasn't on when I went to NZ last month!

For those interested, this mob are selling 1L Seagers Gin for NZD9.95 on orders over NZD50.

Also, Tanqueray is available in two forms:
  • 1L for NZD27.95*
  • 200mL for NZD4.80*

*Member's price.

Plymouth Navy Strength - head and shoulders above the pack.

It's deadly! Makes a hell of a dry martini, though; especially New York style, i.e. it is sufficient to allow the shadow of the Vermouth bottle to pass over the glass once the Martini has been poured.
