I've just done what the OP suggests.

My Citi visa had an outstanding balance of ~$4,000 to which I balance transferred $4,000 from 'Ignite'.

My Adelaide Bank visa had ~$4,000 outstanding to which I have BTd $8,000 from 'Ignite'. I know from past experience that Adelaide Bank have no problem with this but I didn't do it with Citi for the reasons pointed out above.
a) I don't trust them
b) I've read numerous times in the past on this forum that Citi don't like +ve balances on CCs.

Indeed. I was watching that classic homosexual movie top gun :D and some rugby of payTV, while catching up with AFF on iphone.

I've strained my neck and sitting up is less painful than lying down.
