And now my application is back to 'in progress'. It's now been 16 days since I applied and I still don't have an answer ... even though my income was verified over a week ago - very surprised they are so slow!

Called again and was advised I will have an answer by the end of the week. Wish me luck :)

I am still waiting. My app was submitted 4 weeks ago now...I have made 3 phone calls .... each time to be told they don't know why it's delayed and everything is verified and it is sitting with the approvals team.

This is getting ridiculous! Income has been verified and is over 25k above minimum limit and I was, at one stage conditionally approved.

Has anyone had lengthy application delays recently or is it just me?

Mine was easy one phone call and 15 min of time. Although I was just transferring from an existing card that had over 15 k limit.

Mine has sat collecting dust in the wallet for months, but now with the demise of mASAs, might be time to give this baby a whirl...

I'm with you CFWM time to use this instead of the QEDRCC and credit towards other programs....

I thought I asked recently but can not find confirmed answer.....Insurance payments still receive rewards points?

I rang Citi call centre about another issue with my CBG card and while on the phone they told me that paying "bills" does not attract points. The guy wasn't certain what "bills" included; just kept saying points are only earned on retail purchases.

Points are not earned on ATO, Council rates & charges, etc. and I suspect that insurance is out as well, but I can't say for sure.

Please, please seek further advice. These terms have been there a year now and I got points on my last rates bill and my last insurance, this was in Feb but every time this question has been asked someone pops up who has got points. They may change this sometime but experience to date is you get points for most of these, except ATO.

Best way is always to test :)

PS Citibank give points for Bpay... what does the B stand for in Bpay? ;)

My experience on the CitiBusiness Gold is that rates and insurance don't count; may be different for their other cards. Although I must admit that it is difficult to be sure as (on the CBG) Citi use a different "statement date" for the points as against the payments, and that makes reconciling the two a challenge. I have since used the CBG selectively to try and confirm what pays and what doesn't. The Jury is still out on insurance but at least on the CBG, rates, water charges, electricity, and corporate body fees seem to be out.

What really disappoints me is that even the call centre doesn't know the answer to this one. I have refrained from asking them specifically in case the product gets enhanced so that it is simpler and fairer; but as it came up while making a complaint about missing points on a genuine "retail" purchase, it is disappointing that the agent at Citi seems not to be able to understand his product's own workings.

It may be as simple as that if the payment goes through DEFT Payments (or similar) you don't get points; whereas if you pay over the counter you do:confused:

How long have DEFT been not paying points? I use DEFT for strata levies and pay a surcharge for the privilege so was expecting to at least get the points.

Well of course that is the Citibusiness Gold which they are trying to phase out and possibly removing all the benefits to do so. Am personally not sure that experiences on the CBG can be extrapolated to the card this thread is about.

I agree; and as I only have the CBG that is the closest info I can offer. May not be relevant for the OP and this thread, but better to be warned and have a lower expectation than get a nasty surprise on a large payment. JV

Perhaps a small trial payment is the way to go here!

A few weeks ago, I applied for the Signature under this promotion and despite some small issues, I was generally happy with the process, even hearing "welcome to the family" by a call centre agent when activating the card. I would have cancelled my Woolworths Everyday Rewards card, however they have given me a fee-waiver so there is no need for that.

Since then, I have received my first statement about two weeks ago, however my Citibank rewards points balance remained at 0, despite putting more than $5K on this card. Before contacting the call centre, I wanted to ask here whether there always is a delay between statement date and the rewards points balance being updated - is there? Otherwise, I guess this will be my first test on how well the (apparently dreaded for some here) call centre experience shapes up for me...

I was super impressed. They even refunded portion of the previous annual fee I paid. Go Citibank!

I'm interested in applying for the platinum card however I'm not sure if I'm eligible. I'm currently at uni working on a casual basis. At the moment I'm earning about 1k a week. However it will be a lot less when I go back next semester. Do citibank just ask for the last few payslips? my tax return last year was just under the 35k requirement.

They have only ever asked for payslips from me (and bank statements for investment income). I sent them a notice of assessment because I didn't want to dig up all my statements but they said it was for self employed people only so they couldn't accept it.

So you might be okay. But you'll find everyone has a different experience with Citi.
