“new” QF B737-800s

VH-XZQ positioned BNE-TSV (edited) on Sunday reportedly for paint. So back to one white tail in service for now.

Report in airliners.net that VH-XZQ will return tomorrow after only 5 days in TSV.

Obviously quite quick to apply the QF livery to an already white aircraft.

XZQ back in BNE and named "Airlie Beach" in line with secondary airports/towns for most 737s.

Being replaced in TSV by 2007 liveried XZH so presumably XZR will continue to fly in white for a little while.

Got to fly on VH-XZR on a rather empty QF545. Did not manage to get any pictures of the business class cabin but a stock standard J seat and the Y seat offered decent padding and adjustable head rest.

Received a text message about 24 hours beforehand letting us know there was no wifi or Qantas Entertainment app. The aircraft had a curtain between J and Y which closed during the flight. Row 5 is the new Row 4 but due to a floor to ceiling bulkhead doesn't offer as much legroom as you may be accustomed to on a QF 737.

Pleasant flight and the crew went up and beyond for the handful of pax on the plane.

VH-XZS with a test flight Sat so presumably due to enter service soon
(Possibly one of XZR/XZS might replace XZH at the TSV paint shop so it will still be two of these odd balls in service)
