If you look at the number of points required to get to Europe in Business class on most of the common FF programmes (Qantas, Velocity, KrisFlyer etc) the points required is mostly in the mid-100,000's, give or take. Agree. I'd been thinking that I'd divide my points between Cathay and Qatar Avios, but in the end I just transferred everything to Cathay. My rationale is that Avios are much more readily available to purchase at a semi-reasonable price than Cathay points.
