I agree -- it makes the lounges extremely crowded. The one upside is that one of the few times I've had an AFL team on my flight, I got an op-up to Business.

And why not? I know that there can be good reasons for business travellers to fly Qantas -- more routes, greater frequencies, and more lounges (which managers in particular might feel they're entitled to). But companies have a duty to keep profits up and keep costs down ... so why not fly VA...

Absolutely lock in the seats that are available while you can. There is a USD75 per person fee to cancel KrisFlyer bookings. It might still be worth it in terms of the reduced carrier charges and convenience -- but that's your decision.
