Not at an airport but on a Qatar flight. Several twenty somethings dominating the lounge. They were noisy the the F word was used constantly. I mentioned it to the FA, but no response. It made the lounge unusable for the other passengers on board.

I'm afraid that I still use private car/limo services to and from Mel. I use a local person and the fare is a known quantity before I get in. I am still unsure about using people in private cars. I prefer "formal" arrangements ie taxis or limo services.

They are useful while waiting for everyone to settle in before a flight takes off. Too hard to concentrate with everybody shuffling around before the drinks arrive.:p

Thanks for all the advice. I have booked on Qatar. It was actually a bit cheaper than Thai at the time of booking. i have a 777300 flight from Paris back to Doha, but the seats look the same. It is a 22 plan however for a 5 hour flight, that should be fine.

I'm not sure if i submitted Next Stop Paris previously for travelling on the Metro, Tells you which lines to use and the direction of the train. It also gives the travel time. Iusede it in 2015 and kept it on my phone as a souvenir, but since I am returning there in a few weeks I'll get to use...

I paid for access to the Melbourne Virgin domestic lounge last January. Wasn't worth it as there were not many food choice available. Because it was holiday time, there were a lot of noisy kids and families running around. I was only going to Hobart (Amex free flight) anyway. Probably better...

I'm booked on QR in J to France in September. Three 380's and one 777. I'm looking forward to it. The 777300 flight looks like it will be much better than the 777200 out of Melbourne 18 month ago! The 777 flight is from CDG to DOA with a 5 hour transit time in DOA.

I haven't had the chance to try a bar on the 380 but it would probably provide an excuse to stand up and move around a bit. I've seen the happy faces around the bar in the ads!;)

I left a wallet in a taxi in Hobart a few years ago. I rang the company who contacted the driver. He drove back to my location and I found the wallet. I was happy to pay the fare from his home and back plus a tip. Can't beat Hobart!
