Can anyone tell me if Thai are still using the ancient and uncomfortable B777200 out of Melbourne? I am talking about J. I am off to Paris in Sept again so if they are, I will avoid them.
Thanks for any info.

Depends which flight. TG465 the overnight from Bangkok which turns around as TG466 is 95% 777-300ER with fully flat staggered beds in J.

TG461/462 is more often the B772 is the coughpy old J. Ok for a day flight but unacceptable for overnight.

If you are going to Europe it would usually be TG466 on MEL-BKK as this links up with all the midnight departures out of BKK. Then coming home would usually be TG461 which lines up with all he early AM arrivals from Europe. So really should be ok I would have thought as you won't be on any of the overnights from/to Mel?

Thank you. I will probably try Qatar or Emirates. Depends upon availability and prices.

It depends when you are flying... at the moment the MEL services are 772 (461/2) and 77W (465/6), but that changes from August 1 and both services are 77W (full flat)

Any good AFFer able to advise what metal is TG465? And more importantly does it have 180deg flat beds?

Thanks for all the advice. I have booked on Qatar. It was actually a bit cheaper than Thai at the time of booking. i have a 777300 flight from Paris back to Doha, but the seats look the same. It is a 22 plan however for a 5 hour flight, that should be fine.

It is a 77W (full flat beds). This is confirmed for the next schedule period as well (eff Oct). The 461 will revert to a -200 with angled flat.
