RTW, Credit Card, Altitude, QC and QFF

Can't speak to the credit card situation, as have one that credits automatically to QF. There is the two One World RTW that use the BA, AA, LAN, QF,AY,EI,CX and IB airlines, shedules. These come in two flavours a xONEx, which allows set number of sectors, must cross both Altantic and Pacific...

    Emirates cancels Airbus A340-600 order

Boeing 777, 777LR/ER or would they go for the 787-8/9? I thought that the 777 was pitched at the 340, with the mooted 350XWB to be the answer to the 787 dominace on forward orders for aircraft in the 250-330 class? The 787-3 looks like it won't have the range that the 340 does, however the...

Ok, so why does everyone continue to bag Qantas?

As a Perth resident, I wouldn't know but try getting from either A/P if you happen to be delayed or arrive on a late flight. I swear PER (pop 1.5 mill) taxi's stop after 11pm, but in KGI (pop 35,000) there's never a problem, apart from when the swim through known as Diggers is on. Go...

BA invites tenders for new aircraft

And the A350 looks a long way away at best. Shame, the competition wouldn't hurt anyone.

BA invites tenders for new aircraft

From ninemsn (-edited to add) "British Airways put out tenders on Wednesday for a long-awaited replacement of its fleet of 114 long-haul Boeing aircraft in a deal that could generate crucial orders for European rival Airbus. Europe's third-biggest airline, which wants to take delivery of the...

Ok, so why does everyone continue to bag Qantas?

I may not fly as much as some ppl in this forum on 'real' QF metal, (a BA-146 seems to be the most common plane that I get on with the 'Roo on the tail). I can't say I've really had a bad flight on QF. My airtime is on average 90% domestic, and of that 50% is would be flights inside WA...

    Qantas fleet decisions

With all the well publicised delays in regards the 380 project, do you think that Qantas will take up it's options for Airbus’s new bit of metal ( 350, the 787 competitor)as it is even further away than the 380 or move lock stock to the new Boeing family i.e. Next Gen 737 for smaller Trunk...

QF points on OneWorld airlines other than BA/AA?

If you fly economy in any US domiciled carried unfortuantly you'll find that to be the case. (Having said that I've only done it twice, could just have been unucky). The T&C's (Link below) will tell you more but form what I can remember the earn rate is on parity with BA and AA, but with a...

"Best fare of the day" policy

As about half of my flights are on charter airlines, I'd hate to think what the BFOD policy advocates (accountants) would think when my travel submission reads PER to Marvel Loch, back to PER(ON), PER-BNE-Maroonbah(ON)-BNE-PER. The cost PER-BNE-PER (QF in whY) was about 35-40% of the total cost...

    I can sympathise with Sardines

West wings it to success Steve Creedy July 14, 2006 THE parking squeeze is on at Perth Airport after a healthy 7 per cent growth in traffic in 2005-06 saw it top 7 million passengers for the first time. More than 480,000 additional passengers, most of them domestic, boosted the total...

QF domestic lounges - less relevant nowadays?

I have found that the best QP (beverage wise) is in the new ADL, where they have pints of Coopers on tap. I'm not sure if this is a new thing as I can't remember the old QP. If it is I'd like to suggest that they refit the PER QP to provide some of the better WA beers, Little Creatures Pale Ale...

QF domestic lounges - less relevant nowadays?

Yup the showers have saved many a life (mine and possibly others) after some trips that I've done recently (PER-BNE, 11hrs O/N, BNE-EMD-BNE-MLB-PER was the most recent shocker in at total of ~35 hrs). And as for the alcohol, that's just there for the fun.

Mysterious disappearance of catering in BNE Qantas Club and on board

Thanks’ for that Yada Yada. The DJ lounges (if they ever arrive, we do get the rugby 2 hours late) would be nice however the PER terminal is arranged so that it would be rather difficult to get from the DJ lounge to the QF flight (Company policy is OneWorld travel only, don't know who thought...

Mysterious disappearance of catering in BNE Qantas Club and on board

I agree with all of what has been said so far. Unfortunatly QF is the only game in lounge town (I'm in Perth, as far as lounges go it is the only game in town) . While they are not surperb and anyone's that's been in CX's HKG lounges (The Peir and I can't recall the other one), they know what...

    Breakfast In Melbourne International Lounges

Mixing Champange with OJ-What hardship!! If I'm breakfasting in the QC then I'm usually on my way to work at some indeterminate time, often between "oh my god it's early" and "I'm too old for this" Unfortunatly I usually fly domestic (from PER) at that hour so it's quite busy with...

    Temporary Card

Thanks NM and Mal for that. First time in the pointy end of the plane and wasn't sure what to expect in regards to lounge access etc, that's why I asked the question. Found it much better than the Cessna breed of AC that i usually fly in for work.

    Temporary Card

Lounge dragons are an interesting breed. In business (Perth to Brisbane) walked in and showed bording pass (Didn't have linked booking to QC, Travel agent error). Was told that business class didn't automatically get into the QC, and had to produce card from wallet. Anyone else had such an...
