In July this year I flew with Cubana from MEX to HAV and then from HAV to CUN. Easily booked online. AeroMexico was impossible to book online and Sydney staff were unhelpful. Cuba is a great place and I would highly recommend that people go and see it.

I'll be buying more points on the current offer and booking some return trips with EY to AUH from Sydney or Brisbane. This is great value at 45k for business. It's a shame that we are not getting these deals in the future. Even with the exchange rate it makes good sense.

I've found the menu options to be extensive on the flights to the Americas and the staff to be generous with changing online preferences. But the Sydney flight to Tokyo and return (as supper flights) have small plates on and never seem to be able to offer a second plate. I find that rather poor...

I use AA points to get to AUH from Australia and then Etihad points from AUH to various places in Africa - and find that AUH to Africa has heaps of reward space. It's always really easy to book online and great when there are bonus transfers like these. From memory taxes are minimal.

Etihad will check bags through on two different PNRs booked through two different frequent flyer programmes. I've done this many times.

I have the Amex Reserve and have never been able to upgrade this to a higher fare class since they moved across to Virgin. With Qantas it was much easier.
