That's all pretty outrageous Pele! Just email the concierge with the specific request, and ask them to call you back to confirm. That's always worked for me (they even called me at requested times when I was living in Canada to line up with the time difference).

I might be missing the point, but that clause presumably doesn't apply since your account sounds like it's in credit - i.e. since there's money in it. You can leave this account open with some balance in it and it shouldn't be closed unilaterally by the bank.

Did you end up getting seats from an award bucket, or are they revenue seats that will earn you status credits & points?

I imagine BA was offered to get you to LHR since they're a Oneworld airline and you're putting together a OW award. I don't know if others can comment, but if you fly with KLM to LHR, just make sure it doesn't screw up your award validity.

I can't remember how you sign up (ask concierge), but you'll receive a package from priority pass with your card. Once you've got that the easiest thing is to log in using the app - then you don't even need the physical card, only the digital card via the app. I've used it lots of times in Asia...
