What's changed? AA reward flight availability.

Thanks. Sounds like the beginning of the end for frequent flyer schemes to me. Looked at United also (been a member since the 90's) - same story. Unless you have millions of points you won't be able to get a flight.

What's changed? AA reward flight availability.

I have been an AAdvantage member since 1984 and have generally been able to get flights at a reasonable points cost. Just got back from a five week,13 flight trip to Europe (all paid) and thought I would check AA for flight next year to Europe. I hadn't looked at the site for quite some time...

    Qantas F Lounge Singapore opinion

I was in SE Asia over the last three weeks and had the opportunity to try the new F lounge in Singapore. Arrrived just after opening and had a nice lunch and service (menu a little too similar to Sydney), but by the time we left at around 5.30 the general seating area was pretty full whilst the...

Still waiting for SC's from EY flight in early December - need them for Platinum

Thanks I have now reached Gold and should now qualify for Platinum, having 840 status credits and taking into account the 160 SC's from the Etihad flight. Can you confirm that I will qualify for Platinum as the activity took place within the qualification period even though the points may...

    Silver to Gold

I recently qualified to have my Silver renewed and in the process have enough SC's for Gold subject to flight qualification. Two questions: 1. When does the clock start for the 4 flights - i.e. do any of the flights in the last six/twelve months count? Or is it from the Silver renewal date? 2...

UPDATE A week later and I still can't get an updated itinerary. The info in my online FF account is correct. Now about that CEO job - where do I apply?

A simple booking change - how hard can this be?

Re the situation in HK - I'm sure you're right (I lived there for 8 years) but all of our engagements were in/around Central so really didn't need to deal with it and BTW I support the cause.

A simple booking change - how hard can this be?

So I had a reservation for this weekend SYD/HKG/BNE/SYD. After consideration about the situation in HKG, decided to push the booking back a few weeks. Achieved this (most basic) online transaction OK, apparently. Tried to generate the new itinerary - no luck. The system kept sending me the old...

    Lunch with Lesley

I have my 3 very pertinent questions, have been a QF frequent flyer for many years, have been a member of other FF schemes since they were invented (eg Pan Am) but because I have a life and don't spend it posting to this forum I can't participate. QF/Red Roo - any comments?

Sweet and Sour - Singapore Lounge and SIN/SYD in Y QF82

In the light of today's announcement I think my experience last weekend demonstrates some of the problems at QF. The Sweet - En route ex Delhi, via KL to SIN on MH J Class. My first time in the new SIN Lounge - absolute heaven wtith wonderful table service from Fay and Cielo and some of the...

Philippine Airlines removed from European Union blacklist

Showing my age but I flew PR in the early 80's when they were one of the first to have flat beds (certified for take off and landing IIRC) on the F upper deck of the 747. SQ later introduced this as well. They also advertised their Chaîne des Rôtisseurs membership. I have flown SYD/MNL many...

Citibank cards absent from 15% Velocity bonus conversion program

Yet again CB are notable by their absence in the current 15% Velocity conversion campaign. Last time this happened I kicked up a fuss and they did something about so I guess I'll have to do the same again. Any other views/experience?

Virgin Money credit cards (linked to Velocity rewards)

Warning - beginning of rant. After the third call in three days from a call centre chasing up documents for verification, I finally told Virgin Money (Citbank) to cancel the application for a Virgin Australia Velocity VISA Flyer Card. I have been a Citibank Platinum member for 10 years, had...

Pronto Valet Parking T2 Sydney - damaged my car and refused to pay

Parked my car at T2 last week at the Valet Parking at T2 labelled as Pronto but operated by Secure Parking. It was damaged by them but I failed to notice until the next day. I submitted a claim but they declined to take any responsibility. The facts were pretty clear. the moral is you now need...

Citibank Platinum Visa - not in 15% bonus redemption scheme

I just went to the Velocity web site and for the second time this year there is a 15% point transfer bonus in which Citibank are not participating. I have queried this with Citibank before but got the run around and the same from Velocity. Any one know anything more on this?

    20% bonus velocity points

I had been waiting to convert in anticipation of one of these promotions. I emailed and rang Citibank Platinum customer service and they said they don't know why. This was after emailing Velocity first where I was told to call Citibank. I then emailed Velocity again stating that this is not...
